The Tulip House
Description
This fairytale home is located in Bass Lake, CA, just 14 miles from Yosemite National Park. It is a charming and delightful house filled with wonderful and whimsical blends of tile and wood, and filled with art and Americana. Surprising and enchanting is The Tulip House and Loft. The space Jill Cooley, late Bass Lake business owner, was the creator of this home, which represents the culmination of her years of travel throughout the world, her artistic talent, her dreams and fantasies, and her eccentric point of view. Not only would she stand in front of a Klimt painting for hours, but she would pay the same reverence to a cracked sidewalk, moss and small plants finding a place to flourish. She framed the offerings of a young child with the same respect given to the work of artists. Her fusion of the dramatic and modern, mixed with the primitive and common, with Asian influences coupled with gypsy caravan whimsy, resulted in her singular point of view. She gave freedom to other artisans as well, and together, they blended many styles into this fairytale home. One expects Hansel and Gretel to knock on the door at any minute. Guest access There is a large bedroom with a king size bed and bathroom, a small bedroom with a queen bed and a half bath, a large kitchen and dining room, and a spacious living room with a queen size pull out sofa bed with an enhanced 10" mattress.
