Blue Sky Cottage is one-of-a-kind. It is a lovely, serene cottage on a magical property in an incredible location. The cottage is freshly renovated head-to-toe, with a new kitchen, large new bath and much more. It is nestled in a private 2-acre gated property filled with gardens, woodlands and redwood groves - an oasis! It is central to everything - the perfect base for exploring the Bay Area. It is 30 min to San Francisco, 45 min to Napa, and a short walk to sweet downtown Kentfield. The space What makes this cottage so special is not just the cottage itself but the unbelievable property and location. Blue Sky Cottage has just undergone a full upscale renovation and is fresh and stylish. It has a new kitchen, large new bath and much more. Everything in the cottage - appliances, fixtures, linens, furnishings, cookware - are excellent quality. The great room, with peaked ceilings, windows on both sides and skylights, is airy and filled with light. It opens into a large deck that looks onto woodlands. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality cookware and dishes and has everything you need to cook wonderful meals. It features a custom farmhouse range hood, solid wood open shelving, quartz counters and all new appliances. Coffee in the morning is covered by a coffee station with a Kuerig, French press, pods, electric kettle and all the fixings. The bathroom is large, luxurious, newly renovated and just gorgeous, with a double-vanity and a tub enclosure lined with beautiful deep blue tile. Towels are thick 100% cotton and robes are provided. The bedroom boasts a beautiful queen-sized solid acacia bed with very comfortable premium Sealy Posturepedic mattress. It has large windows and lovely light: guests say they love waking up there. There is a very comfortable American Leather queen sleeper sofa in the living room with upgraded thicker Posturpedic mattress. Linens and pillows are good quality throughout. We take sleep quality seriously here! A heating and AC system ensure your year-round comfort. Wi-Fi speed is excellent, 782 Mbps, sufficient for high-quality streaming on many devices at once. Designed by the owner, an artist, the cottage sings with color - from the sky blue exterior to the sunshine yellow front door to the lively green kitchen tiles to the soft blue walls of the great room. Overall the cottage is fresh, chic, peaceful and private with a cheerful vibe. The cottage is nestled in a very private 2-acre gated property filled with gardens, woodlands and redwood groves - a magical oasis! Most guests are quite astonished when they arrive at this property. The property features an historic Victorian main house (where the hosts live) and two rental cottages, grouped around a common lawn and gardens. The lawn is available for all to use - perfect for picnics, little ones or play with your puppy. Behind the house and cottages are wild woodlands, and wildlife spottings are common: deer, red-tailed hawks, owls, foxes, raccoons, the occasional coyote all make the rounds here. The property is in a prime location, central to everything - the perfect base for exploring the Bay Area. It is in sunny Central Marin, clear of the fog belts of Mill Valley or Sausalito. San Francisco is 30 min to the south, wine country is 45 min to the north, and all of beautiful Marin surrounds you. Marin is world-famous for it's abundance of hiking, mountain biking and other outdoorsy fun, not to mention great food and shops. The property has multiple great hikes and bike paths nearby, and is easy walking distance to brunch, dinner or deli in sweet downtown Kentfield. This is one of the best and safest areas in all of the Bay Area. Guest access The cottage, the deck, the parking space and the path between. Guests may occasionally use the common lawn. Other things to note Pet Policy: We love dogs and they are very welcome at this pet-friendly property! Here are the rules: - Nonrefundable pet fee of $50/pet. - 1 well-behaved dog weighing 50 lb or less and no younger than 1 year allowed. No excessive barking, chewing, scratching. - IMPORTANT: Dirty dogs must be cleaned before re-entering the cottage. If the dog’s paws are dirty, please wash and dry them at the provided “dog paw washing station” next to the cottage (towels are in the grey box). If your dog is overall dirty (ie they’ve been to the beach or more than their paws are dirty), please give them a bath at Woodland Pets in Greenbrae. - Dog may not be left alone in the cottage if it has any behavior issues like chewing, excessive barking, etc. - Even if it doesn’t, please don’t leave your dog alone in the unit for more than 4 hours. Dogsitting is easily available through Rover. - Dog must be cleaned up after scrupulously, bagged waste put in the grey bin by the gate. - Please supervise your dog at all times when out on the property. Do not let him/ her roam freely without supervision. - Dog must be current on all flea and tick treatments. FENCING OF PROPERTY: Please note that this property is not a “fenced yard”. There is deer fencing around the back, but it has gaps (that’s how the wildlife gets in, and we like it!) Plus, there are cars, other guests, delivery people and workmen in and out. The gate in front is enclosed so access to the road is limited but it does open when cars enter. In other words, there are all sorts of things that make this place not a proper “fenced yard”, so supervision of your dog when out is absolutely required. That said, it’s generally pretty quiet and private around here and is lovely for dogs. ROSIE: The property comes with an adorable resident mini-bernadoodle named Rosie. We allow her to occasionally roam our fenced property and play on the lawn. She is entirely friendly and loves people and other dogs! She can be a little shy at first, so best to let her approach you. She fancies herself a guard dog so she sometimes barks at new people (sorry!) but don't worry, she’s harmless and warms up quickly. She is very sweet so feel free to say hello if you'd like! Smoking: There is no smoking anywhere on this property, or even on the private road just outside the property, which bothers the neighbors. PLEASE don’t book this property if you smoke.
