Description

Cabin Creek Hide-Away - This 100 acre forest property is just 15 minutes from Letchworth State Park, features a very secluded, rustic cabin hidden deep in the woods, with private waterfalls! The cabin is off the grid/no electricity, with modern conveniences like solar powered lights, LP gas refrigerator and a composting toilet. Swain Mountain Ski Resort is just 4 miles South. The space Terry and I thoroughly clean the cabin ourselves (No “Cleaning Staff”) in preparation for your arrival, treating ALL surfaces with anti-bacterial cleaners, including our mattress pad & pillow covers. When you come to our 100 acre private forest, you and your party are the only ones there, with our other cabin a half a mile away. Your vacation stay here at Cabin Creek continues to offer what few other destinations can. The space is 100 Acres of private forest! When you come inside, you'll be able to relax in the CLEANEST cabin in the woods! We thoroughly clean all the way through the cabin ourselves for each guest party. Past guests often comment on our exceptional cleanliness. The off-grid cabin is lit by 12V solar powered lights. The LP gas fireplace is perfect for relaxing in the evening, getting cozy on the couch, or enjoying the view from the comfortable queen sized bed. The beauty of the forest streams in with the sunlight through the large bank of windows. Morning coffee and evening toddies are accompanied by the sound of birds singing and chipmunks scurrying in the woods. Everything tastes better out on the large covered deck, which is perfect for grilling as the sun goes down! Even during a passing summer shower, the soft patter of the raindrops on the tin roof is so peaceful! We love coming here to be alone, and we know you will too! LP gas powers the hot shower, cook stove, half-size refrigerator, and fireplace. The bathroom is complete with a natural composting toilet, gravity fed hot shower, towels, and wash cloths. The kitchen comes furnished with a percolating coffee pot, plates, cups, mugs, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. The covered deck is furnished with a charcoal grill and patio set. The fire ring is just a few yards from the cabin. Firewood is available for purchase, or forage for your own close by. Note: During our Winter Wilderness Drop Camp Season (December 1 - April 14), the cabin is dry, meaning that there is no running water in the cabin. Water is hauled in for you, with dispensers placed in the kitchen & bathroom. A 12 volt camp shower is provided in the bathroom, and water is heated on the stove. Our composting toilet is unaffected by winter weather. NOTE: We do not accept pets or "Assistance Animals" in our space due to a health condition of one of the hosts. Assistance animals create a health or safety hazard to us, and Airbnb policy does not require us to host guests with assistance animals. Guest access With rental of the Hide-Away property, guests have use of the cabin on the 20 acre high-elevation forested plateau situated on the North rim of the Cabin Creek Ravine. Guests also have access to hiking trails all across the 100 acre forest property. Note: December 1 - April 14 is our Winter Wilderness Drop Camp Season. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to drive your vehicle closer than 1/2 mile to the cabin site due to snow depths & terrain. On your arrival, we can take your luggage & supplies in and out for you with our machines, so you don't have to pack everything in. The breathtaking scenery of the winter snow on the high elevation hemlocks surrounding the cabin make the inconvenience of reaching this remote location well worth it! Come and discover just how much fun it is being snowed in with the one you love! NOTE: We do not accept "Assistance Animals" in our space due to a health condition of one of the hosts. Assistance animals create a health or safety hazard to us, and Airbnb policy does not require us to host guests with assistance animals. Other things to note Guests need to bring their own bedding, including sheets, pillow cases, blankets or a sleeping bag. We have a queen size bed and a full size futon. We can provide bedding at a charge of $15 per bed. Please make this request in advance. 12V solar power will not power appliances such as electric fans, CPAP machines, etc. NOTE: We do not accept pets or "Assistance Animals" in our space due to a health condition of one of the hosts. Assistance animals create a health or safety hazard to us, and Airbnb policy does not require us to host guests with assistance animals.
