Zion Park/Grand Canyon Retreat at Stuart Farm
Description
Stuart Farm is a private three-acre estate with a newly renovated five-bedroom farmhouse in Cane Beds, Arizona. This area is one of the last great wilderness areas in Northern Arizona. If you want to get away from it all in comfort but still get out in nature, this is the place. We are close to the Arizona/Utah border, and just around the corner from the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Only 45 min from Zion National Park and just 1.5 hours away from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or Bryce Canyon. The space Stuart Farm is a three-acre property that will feel like your very own country home. The main house was recently renovated containing many modern features. The main house is about 2000 sq. ft.; fully furnished with everything that you need to enjoy a comfortable, relaxing stay. The Farm has an orchard, vineyard, greenhouse, hot tub, private sauna and seasonal garden. In the summertime, we invite you to help yourself and enjoy any of the fruit and vegetables that are grown on the property. The Farm offers stunning mountain views, spectacular sunsets and glorious night sky's showcasing millions of stars. The farm is located next to a very rare "International Dark Sky Region" which is specifically protected for its distinguished quality of starry nights, superb views of the milky way and natural nocturnal environments. These areas are becoming more and more rare as light wash from nearby cities and towns drown out the ability to see the night sky with the naked eye. These regions only exist in a few remote places in the western part of America and scientists tell us than in less than ten years our area will be only one of two places left in the United States where dark skies will truly exist. This is something that you must see and if you are an enthusiast, bring your telescope and really enjoy something you may not have seen before. The farm is located on ancient Anasazi Indian ruins. It is said that over 10,000 Indians once lived in the Cane Beds valley. If you hike around the property, you may find arrowheads and ancient pieces of broken pottery. Petroglyphs are carved on the surrounding cliffs and caves can be seen where Indians once lived. If you find any Indian artifacts, please leave them where you found them. The farm is home to many wild animals including huge jackrabbits, deer, coyotes, cows grazing out on the east range and a herd of resident big horn sheep on the north ridge. Because we are out in the wilderness, the farm is also home to a large array of bugs, crickets, spiders, bees and the occasional snake. Most of the snakes are good snakes and keep rodents and rattlesnakes away from the property, but the rare rattlesnake has been seen in the area, so be mindful of where you are walking and always take precautions. Mother Nature has given us an abundance of gifts here and we hope that you enjoy all of them. We only ask that you honor and respect the property and leave it untouched. The house is fully furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, dishes and appliances. We have provided the basics for cooking such as salt, pepper, sugar, spices, oil, etc. You will only need to bring in the food that you will be eating. We have a second refrigerator/freezer in an adjacent butler's pantry off of the dining room for overflow. We also provide a complimentary bottle of wine, as well as coffee, tea, sugar and creamer with your stay. The home provides linens, hand soap, toilet paper, trash bags and cleaning supplies. There is a washer and dryer with complimentary laundry supplies and an iron and ironing board. The house comes with wireless internet so that you are able to use your cell phone and electronic devices. To use your cell phone, turn on WIFI calling. Our internet is fiber optic so you should have very adequate WIFI speed. We have had several guests work and attend school from the Farm using Zoom without any problems. We have a TV with all the premium channels that you can sign into, such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. Four of the bedrooms are on the second floor along with a bathroom. Guests should be comfortable using stairs to access those sleeping areas. There is a King bedroom suite and bathroom on the main floor for guests that would rather not use the stairs. This bedroom does not have an HVAC vent in the room so it can be stuffy in the summer and chilly in the winter. We have provided fans and heaters to accommodate. Guest access You will have full access to the house, the hot tub, the roof viewing deck and the three-acre property. The sauna may be booked at an additional fee by appointment and will be prepared by an attendant on the property for you and your party. You will not have access to the other outbuildings or to the garage. We require that all children be accompanied and supervised by an adult when occupying the roof viewing deck or using the hot tub and sauna. We request that you drive slowly (5mph) in and out of the property while on the gravel roads, keeping an eye out for small children and pets. Other things to note The house keeps quiet hours after 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends. The area is very remote and sound travels a far distance. Many of the people in the neighborhood go to bed shortly after dark. We ask that you respect these quiet hours on our behalf. If you are driving in after dark, please be mindful that your speed does not exceed 5 mph on the gravel roads and that your headlights do not shine in the windows of our neighbors' houses as you are arriving or leaving the Farm. Stuart Farm has posted several security cameras around the exterior grounds of the property for added security. Those cameras are turned off at check in and are turned back on when you check out. They are there for security when the house is vacant between guests. For your privacy, there are no indoor cameras inside the residence.
