A Unique FarmStay Experience in the Catskills

Our bright and cheery lovely cottage is located on a peaceful corner of the Catskills Mountains offering both breathtaking mountain vistas and serene pastoral views, 20 min from the quaint town of Windham where you'll find biking and hiking trails, restaurants, cafes, wine bars, boutiques and world class skiing at Ski Windham. We are moments from local horseback riding and Oak Hill known for its creative and artistic flair. It is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The space The Gifford is located in the beautiful and majestic Catskill Mountains and only 2.25 hrs from GWB. The first floor of this two-story Cape Cod has an airy country eat-in kitchen, well stocked with cooking and serving supplies including spices, condiments, coffee maker, filters, a blender, mixer and waffle iron. The family room provides games and a television with a selection of DVDs for your entertainment. The living room features a glass-doored woodstove providing added warmth for those chilly winter evenings, while the attached deck offers a wonderful view of our Catskill sunsets (complete with horses). The master bedroom has a queen bed and cozy writing nook. Two full bathrooms are also located on this floor, as is a laundry. The upstairs has three bedrooms; two bedrooms each with queen beds, and the third is the children’s bedroom which has one bunk bed and two twin beds. The Great Northern Catskills are known for their rich history and strong tie to the arts- visit Olana - the home of Hudson River artist Frederick Church, The Thomas Cole House in Catskill, go apple or pumpkin picking, shop at nearby farm stands, go horseback riding, visit yards sales or our local eclectic auction house where bargains await to delight you. Ski Windham, only 20 minutes away offer world class skiing, skateboarding and tubing. Besides all the adventures in our area there is also fun right in your own backyard. The Gifford is located adjacent to our seventh generation bicentennial family farm which you are welcome to explore and enjoy. During your stay, you’ll be welcome to participate in activities or ‘chores’ happening while you’re here, such as feeding the animals. You may be able to romp with the rabbits, cuddle the kittens, take a gander with the goats, ponder the pigs, sit with the sheep or canoodle with the cows. Also with your stay you will receive our Hull-O Farms breakfast gift basket complete with my personally crafted Farmer’s Wife Buttermilk Pancake mix, real local maple syrup, specialty teas, hot chocolate, our farm fresh eggs and breakfast sausage as well as a sundry of other breakfast items. Guest access You will have the entire house and access to our 300 acre farm.
