Description

Lovingly restored and privately located, this historic cabin offers beautiful mountain views. Nearby attractions include RevRail for rail biking, white water rafting on the Hudson River, Gore Mt and Garnet Hill for skiing and pristine 13th Lake. Elsewhere on property: wood fired pizza in summer, an on site bakery, new cedar sauna and cedar hot tub in a Japanese temple. We have glamping tents and several additional cabins. Enjoy amazing star gazing while sitting fireside at your own firepit! The space Lovingly restored by the great-granddaughter of the original owners, this unique historic cabin still retains many original details and decorations. Many visitors say they feel like they’re stepping back in time. There are lovely leaded glass windows, a handsome rustic stone fireplace, richly stained wood walls, beautifully faded oriental rugs and original china. There is a tidy new country kitchen with reclaimed porcelain sink, new gas stove, fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils. Upstairs are two bedrooms each with a double bed, wide pine floors, and country décor. And at last --- after 100 years of our relatives using an outside “privy” back when this was just a summer “camp”, we have a bathroom -- clawfoot tub with shower hoop and beautiful vessel sink on original ladies wash vanity. Towels and soaps provided. The bathroom window offers the best view of the mountains. There are treasured family hand-me-downs as well as odds and ends which nobody felt comfortable throwing away. Like all family camps, there are bits and pieces of everyone who came before; wooden floors record the scuffs and scratches of generations. There are many photographs showing life at “camp” since the turn of the century. All this gives this Adirondack cottage its own special personality, a unique sense of space --- a treasury of feelings, sensations and memories of family and friends. The house sleeps four comfortably: there are two bedrooms each with double beds. On the glassed in porch is a single bed (not heated in winter) and there is a sofa in the living room. The land is truly spectacular. In summer, wildflower meadows spill down the hill, flanked by beautiful forests. Stretched over the 40 acres we own, we have four glamping tents (Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Thomas and Glamp Bernice) and five cabins (Bird Camp, Farmstand, Camp HudsonView, Camp TwoSome, Camp Lillian, Camp Bossie and Camp Finale). All are listed on this site. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our little mountain. In the spring, summer and fall, there is white water rafting for reasonable rates. You can also rent a tube and float down river (the nearby rafting company can rent you the tubes, then pick you up and then bring you back). Of course, the river offers fishing, bathing or just a great place to sit by and think. Enjoy a hot tub experience! Built within a beautiful Japanese temple-like structure on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our all natural no-chemical hot tub is a delightful way to start your morning, relax after hiking or winding down after dinner. Available for a private experience for $25 for an hour of wonderful relaxation. Let us know if you would like to book. We have a happy lab dog Sammy and a young black lab named Bella who enjoy spending time with our guests. We have free ranging chickens and some years, we have sweet waddling ducks. It’s an easy scenic drive from NYC --- just go north right up Route 87, get off just past Lake George and then a beautiful 30 miles through the mountains to our place. No car, no problem! We can pick you up! NYC Guests: The bus leaves Port Authority at 7 am and arrives at 1:00 upstate in Warrensburg where we will pick you up. Then we can make a couple stops for you to do some shopping (food, liquor) then bring you to your glamping tent. Our property is all walkable --- you can walk to the hot tub, the wood fired pizza, the bakery and the gardens. We also have golf carts for rent which are fun and convenient. If you’re doing white water rafting on the Hudson River or going rail biking with Revolution Rail, we will drop you off and pick you up. We will bring you back to the bus on Sunday for the 1:00 bus which gets you into NYC at 7 pm. Reasonable transportation prices – quoted on request. (Taking the train is also an option although the nearest train station is further away from us than the bus station). PET FRIENDLY WITH CONDITIONS One: If you have more than one dog, please do not INSTANT BOOK before confirming that it is ok with us to come with more than one dog. Two: Absolutely no dogs on our nice furniture and beds. Third: DO NOT leave your dog alone in the cabin even if crated. Five miles away in the little town of North Creek, we have a new listing: a beautifully renovated cottage directly on the Hudson River. With 14 acres surrounding the cottage, it feels like you are way out in the country but it's a short walk to the town of North Creek. The listing is called Riverfront Cottage on the Hudson River. Guest access This is a private cabin with two bedrooms, kitchen and bath. Other things to note This is my great-grandparents cabin and very dear to us so please take good care of it!
