And ZOOM works great here! Enjoy peaceful mornings and sunset evenings away from the crowds but close enough to easily take in Chattanooga sights and entertainments. Our cowboy style guesthouse and spacious 31 acres offer a quiet place to get away for a retreat weekend or an extended work stay. We are a great place for families traveling with kids and dogs. The space We are in horse and farm country outside of Chattanooga. Just a short and easy drive brings you to : Cloudland Canyon State Park for hiking or caving, the Chattanooga Riverwalk for bicycling and walking, the Chickamauga Battlefield Historic National Site, downtown Chattanooga for sightseeing, paddle boarding, restaurants. There is even a canoe launch just down the road. When you are done for the day, come here and relax with a walk in the pasture or on our wooded trails and a view of Lookout Mountain. Our guesthouse shares a big yard with our 145 year old farmhouse. Sitting far off the road surrounded by trees, there is a lot of history here and a lot of fresh air and peace and quiet. Guest access The guesthouse has one bedroom and a loft bedroom and two baths. Downstairs is a quiet bedroom with a queen bed and attached bath. Upstairs is a big room that is great for kids or yogis: two bunkbeds and trundle bed, a table for games or cups of tea, a second TV, and a full bath and closet. The kitchen is complete and stocked with everyday needs. A shared laundry room with washer and dryer and half bath is available to guests if needed. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa. Our TV is set up with Roku TV and a DVD player. An HDMI cable is attached so you can hook up a laptop and watch your own favorite TV channels. There is also a writing table and bookshelf for those times that you have to work. We leave coffee and tea and eggs for you to enjoy. Did we mention “enjoy”-ment? Our barnyard of goats, donkeys, and chickens provides lots of it! We have 6 goats, 5 donkeys, and many free roaming chickens and some roosters. Yes, the roosters crow all day and the donks will get pretty loud if we are late with their dinner. Guests are welcome to visit with them all in the barn or at the fence. Please no feeding, but they all love to be petted. Dogs should not be taken into the areas with the donkeys. We are fine with guests using our grill in the yard and letting their dogs play there after the chickens have gone to bed. We have 6 fenced acres with a pond and friendly dogs, Rocco and Dakota. Rocco is a boxer/mastiff and Dakota is a boxer girl. Our pastures are great for walking, biking, and scenic views. The pond is available for contemplative moments or dog swimming, whichever you prefer. If you need more room and more beds to accommodate your family or group, we have another listing on the property. Please inquire. It is a vintage Avion camper set up behind the Bunkhouse that sleeps 3 or 4 people. Other things to note We are a dog friendly place. Our dog, Rocco, is very easy with people and other dogs. We have about 6 fenced acres that he can run around in with your dog! There is a small pond in the front yard, a big pond available to dogs after 4pm, and the guest house is attached to a barn where we have our own family of friendly pasture pets-goats, chickens, and donkeys. We do charge $10 a night for each guest over 6 people. The fee is added to your quote. We also charge a $20 pet fee. Please be sure to check off the “bringing pets” box when you book. If you need to charge your electric vehicle, we have a level 2 charger that is $10 a day rental. Please note that this is a great place for supervised children. The barnyard pets are friendly and there is room to run around. We ask that parents watch their children when playing outside for their safety and don't enter the barnyard pasture (past the gate in the barn) without us there with you. FYI—we do have pet chickens that live in our yard peacefully with our dogs. Most dogs ignore them but some dogs can’t help but chase and capture. We always ask guests to keep their dog leashed until we can determine how they react to the birds. If their prey drive is too active, there are several safe places for them to run off leash where there are no chickens. UPDATE: we have expanded our vacation rental activity to include a vintage camper set up behind the garage and guesthouse. Those guests have their own regular space to use but the laundry room with half bath, pastures, pond, woods, and barn are shared spaces. While Bunkhouse guests have the big guesthouse and the yard and grillhouse to themselves, they are likely to encounter camper guests in other areas that will be shared. The same outside quiet hours are to be observed by all guests. Camper guests may have their own pet with them. That listing is Sweet Vintage Camper in a fun farm setting. Be assured that we are following AirBnb's guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting between guest stays.
