Description

El Balcon is a centrally located two-person down-town second-floor one-room studio apartment with private bath and exterior entry. It offers a King-size bed (configured as two twin beds if the guest desires), seating for two, free WiFi, a 24-inch Roku TV, mini-fridge, beverage station, and a small walk-in closet, plus original artwork, and mini split HVAC. Guests also have access to a gallery with gas fireplace, a second-floor balcony, and a screened atrium with large TV and firepit. The space El Balcon guests have a private entry from the Marfa House balcony, as well as direct access to the balcony for a breezy seating option at any time. The balcony is a common area open to all guests. In addition, the other common areas of Marfa House are also available--the first floor gallery living room and the atrium at the rear with large screen TV and a firepit. Guest access El Balcon guests access the property by walking up the paved and lighted walkway to a gated courtyard at the rear of Marfa House, entering the screened atrium entry with a keycode, and into the downstairs hall with a keycode. El Balcon is accessed from its keypad entry entered from the common front balcony: guests will go up the main stairs, turn left down the upstairs hall and walk toward the front balcony, turning left on the balcony to reach the El Balcon entry. All guests have access to the common areas: the front gallery, the front balcony, and the screened atrium with firepit and a large-screen TV. Other things to note Marfa is a railroad town: established in 1883 as a water stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad. Marfa House was a railroad hotel and is still located 100 yards from the SP tracks. Trains pass through up to 12 times a day and sound their air horns at the three main crossings in town, so guests may hear TRAIN SOUNDS at any time of the day or night. Most of our guests are not bothered, and we believe this is part of the romance of West Texas.
