Vashon Island's own lighthouse station offers weekend and week-long stays in the two renovated keepers' quarters. The two residences share the beach with the lighthouse and other features of the historic light station. Tours of the lighthouse are offered upon request. Vashon Park District's Point Robinson Park is a 10-acre shoreline park and historical and marine conservancy located on the east shore of Maury Island off Point Robinson Road overlooking the East Passage. The site has provided fog and lighthouse service for vessels since 1885. The lighthouse has been fully automated since 1978. *Vashon Park District owns the upland part of the park; the remainder is on long term lease from the U.S. Coast Guard. The property conserves an extensive sandy beach shoreline that wraps around the point, a saltwater marsh, and upland woodlands. Walking trails and a few picnic tables have been developed along the scenic shoreline providing dramatic views of East Passage, Tacoma, and Mount Rainier, and through the upper wooded area. Pt. Robinson Stewards have fully restored the two Keepers' Quarters on the property for use as vacation rentals. All proceeds from these rentals go back into the park's restoration and maintenance. Quarters A is a full house with an amazing front porch facing Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. High Season: Seven-night minimum stay during high season (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend). Low Season: Two-night minimum stay during low season (September through May). Vashon Park District will require renters to contact us for information on checking in to the property. A Caretaker resides on-site. Our guests can contact the Lodgings Manager at any time. Initial interaction for house access required. Park setting on waterfront tranquility at a lighthouse. Lots of migrating birds, huge cargo ships, dolphins, seals, and sometimes even Orca (killer whales)! Pricing includes cleaning fees and 11.1% sales and lodgings tax. During our high season (Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend) we have a 7-night minimum stay. During low season, we have a 2-night minimum stay. Vashon Park District (VPD) requires a signed Facility Rental Contract and Release Form. These documents will be emailed to the guest at the time of booking and MUST be signed/dated and returned before the arrival date. Guests must provide an email address to VPD for this purpose. Once your signed documents are received, VPD will send check-in and departure information. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the cancellation of your booking. Special Events: All special events (weddings, reunions, conferences, parties, etc.) must be coordinated and pre-approved by the Lodgings Manager. Extra insurance may be required for certain events. Rules: No smoking, no pets, no open flames or candles. Only charcoal is allowed in grills. All guests over the age of 18 must be registered with the Vashon Park District office via the Release Form.
