This bright, welcoming cottage with an open floor plan is the perfect place to make lasting memories with your family and friends. You'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, and can walk your dogs to town or along the nearby beaches. During July and August, a 7-night minimum stay is offered with Saturday check-in and check-out only. Cable and internet are provided only from May 20 through the end of October. There are beds for 8 (queen, full, two twins and a bunk bed set best suited for children). Charming, airy and bright, this dog-friendly 3 BR/1.5 BA cottage in Charlevoix, MI is just a 10-minute walk from two beautiful Lake Michigan beaches – one that’s dog-friendly & one that’s great for the kids with a playground area and lighthouse. The first floor has an open floor plan and hardwood floors throughout, with two bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full), a full-size sleeper sofa and a full bath. Upstairs is a large, carpeted 3rd bedroom with 2 twins that can be pushed together to function as a 'king' bed, a set of bunk beds, and a private half bath. While multiple fans are available for the rare hot summer day in Northern Michigan, please note that our home does not have central A/C. Enjoy grilling on the back deck overlooking a large backyard or walk to Lake Michigan to enjoy the sunset. Bring your bikes and cycle everywhere! You can walk to dinner, coffee and the quaint shops of Bridge Street. House-trained dogs are welcome and you will find that Charlevoix is a very pet-friendly town. Welcome to your home away from home! Charlevoix is a great place to get away from it all - this small resort town in Northern Michigan has an old-time downtown shopping district, the area's only working drawbridge, and breathtaking sunsets over Lake Michigan. Coffee shops, gourmet restaurants, outdoor concerts in the park, sailing and motorboat charters, ice cream and fudge shops, and even a local fishery, are all within walking distance of the cottage. There’s a lakeside bike trail that runs 20 miles along Lake Michigan to Petoskey and numerous options for golfers. Traverse City and Mackinac Island are easy day trips. In the winter months, you can get away from it all or take a day trip to Boyne for some skiing. Guests have full access to the home. Please note that cable and internet are only in operation from May 1 20-October 20. Like many Northern Michigan cottages, we do not have air conditioning but do have ceiling fans and several portable fans. Library and cafes in town have a/c and free wireless internet. Guests may contact the owner and/or local property manager during their stay with any questions but will have the home to themselves. Entrance is through an electronic keypad with a keycode. It's quiet yet walking distance to beaches, the vibrant shops and restaurants of Bridge Street, grocery store and a small-town movie theater :) The location is ideal if you're coming into town for a wedding at Castle Farms or other venues. Both friends and family will find plenty of room in this well laid-out home. If you are coming to Charlevoix for a wedding at Castle Farms, you'll be 3 miles/6 min. drive from the venue! Winter skiing at Boyne is 25 mi/35 min. Petoskey and Elk Rapids are nearby 35-40 min drives and Traverse City/Old Mission and Mackinac Island are full-day trips graced with scenic views and wineries (Old Mission) and the charm of a bygone era (Mackinac). You can pick up the Little Traverse Wheelway for a gorgeous bike ride along Lake Michigan to Petoskey. Please note, there is a $150 pet fee if you would like to bring your house-trained dogs along. The home is not air-conditioned.
