Boho chic studio nestled in the heart of the Cable Beach area – a short stroll to various restaurants, Starbucks, Baha Mar Resort & Casino, grocery stores, a variety of liquor stores, and even better, it’s only a short walk away from several beautiful white sand beaches with pristine turquoise waters – take your pick! When you get home you can relax under the stars in the spacious backyard, or enjoy the cool breeze from your room while reading a book or binging on some Netflix. Seagrape Studio is a fully furnished studio apartment adjacent to a larger main house where hosts Ky and Kate reside. The house boasts a large, lush backyard which is a favourite stop off for a variety of indigenous wildlife, from native birds to curly tailed lizards. Although this property is in the heart of a tourist friendly area and close to pretty much everything, once you step off of the street and into the yard you feel like you are in your own private paradise, surrounded by vibrant greens, beautiful hibiscus flowers and several small palms – you might even get to drink a fresh coconut or two right off of the tree in the backyard! Seagrape Studio is located on the right hand side of the carport, and while the space may be cosy, once you step inside the studio the tranquil seafoam décor and vivid greens of the surrounding foliage will have you relaxing in no time. The view through the window above your bed is a very large, stunning Bird of Paradise, and the view from your bedside window is a set of very tall, picturesque Coconut Trees, a large Seagrape Tree and an Umbrella Tree. During your stay you have access to the entire backyard complete with a variety of native trees, handmade stone firepit, a BBQ for grilling, clothes line, Adirondack chairs and sun loungers. We provide beach towels, a portable freezer bag and Tumbler mugs for the beach – and if you want any advice on secluded beaches or must see spots, just ask your hosts! While you may want to taste test your way around Nassau, Seagrape Studio is complete with a fully stocked kitchenette including an apartment sized fridge and stove, pots/pans, dishware, a microwave, kettle and a folding wall table. The bed is a luxurious and very comfortable Queen with large fluffy, yet firm pillows. The floating bedside tables have power strips with a phone dock and USB outlets for your convenience. There is a large ceiling fan, or A/C if you prefer, however we are an environmentally friendly household, so we do ask that you be conscious of your electricity and water consumption if possible. We do have laundry facilities on-site, just ask your hosts if you need access to those – you can use the dryer or we have a large clothes line right in the backyard. The backyard is a shared space, but we encourage you to enjoy it to the fullest! The vibrant greens and lush plants offer tropical seclusion – whether you are enjoying your morning coffee while gazing at the various birds and animal visitors, or stargazing after a long day in the ocean, we want you to enjoy the space as if it is your own backyard! Come to The Bahamas and stay at Seagrape Studio, explore on your own, or let hosts Ky and Kate help you experience it like the locals – find out for yourself why “It’s Better in The Bahamas” Your hosts live in Nassau, and while we may be busy with our day-to-day activities, we are only a message away. We are more than happy to assist in any way we can to make your experience here the very best possible. Sometimes we are off island, but we always make sure that we are available and easy to reach should you have any questions, and we are more than happy to help! We can help you organize tours or give you tips on where to eat, what to try and what experiences are a must while you’re here! If you want to treat this like a hotel with very little interaction – no problem, just let us know you’re ready for a secluded, private experience. If you would rather interact and get to know Bahamas like the locals do, again, just let us know – depending on our schedule we may even get a chance to show you around ourselves! This is your vacation and we want you to have it your way, experience is how memories are made, and we want you to have the very best! Cable beach is a safe and tourist friendly neighbourhood with all of the amenities you could possibly want. There are a variety of beaches just minutes away from the house, many in walking distance. Caffeine or Alcohol, pick your poison, both are just a 2 minute walk away – if you want a unique experience for either of these we can point you in the right direction, whether it is the beachside Daquiri Shack, or Louis & Steen’s New Orleans Coffee house, both boast stunning ocean views as you sip away – we know all of the hot spots and look forward to sharing them with you! There’s a delicious Sushi restaurant just a minute from your doorstep (Social House), and a few delicious Italian restaurants in walking distance as well (Capriccio Ristorante and Tonino’s Osteria), there’s a Mediterranean restaurant around the corner (Meze Grill), Mexicaba – a new Bahamian Mexican hot spot – there are tons of other restaurants within walking and driving distance as well – many with pristine turquoise ocean views! Just a couple minutes’ drive and you will hit the Sandyport Marina Village, which has a spa, hair salon, liquor store and gas station, News Café for little sandwiches and light bites, the newly opened Bon Vivants – Café & Cocktail Bar with its unique ambiance inspired by our Bahamland as well as the infamous life and writings of Ernest Hemingway, Spritz Wine Bar & Restaurant, and Twisted Lime Sports Bar, all right on the marina. If you’re feeling for something easy and no fuss, there are several pizza places (Marco’s Pizza, Domino’s, Papa John’s), lots of fast food (Wendy’s, Sbarro, Subway, Menchies Frozen Yogurt, Dairy Queen) and local chain Bamboo Shack is a few minutes’ walk away, where you can try out a Conch Snack and grab a cold Kalik! There is a smaller-sized local Straw Market in walking distance on your way to Baha Mar, this area also has an awesome Daiquiri Shack, so you can sip while you shop! The Nightlife is just a walk or short drive away, there are various little bars, patios and oceanside – Baha Mar offers a bustling nightlife, with a large Casino and several nighttime destinations, including a rooftop lounge and Bond nightclub. With so much in walking distance, you won’t have to go too far, but if you do want to experience the rest of Nassau (or even more of the surrounding Bahamian islands), we’ve got you covered! The bus stop, or ‘Jitney’, is pretty much anywhere along West Bay Street, and the fare is $1.25 per person – this can bring you further west to enjoy a variety of restaurants, beaches, and conch salad stands. Or you can venture towards downtown, you’ll pass a variety of little beaches, gas stations and liquor stores. The bus will take you directly past “The Fish Fry” or “Arawak Cay” – an area with multiple little restaurants and bars along the water – an awesome location for an easy bar hop or food hop where you can taste your way down the beach. This is a hotspot for tourists and locals alike, which often features live music, Bahamian drinks and cuisine, and festivals. Make sure to try out conch fritters, conch salad, or conch snack, and wash it down with a cold Kalik, Sky Juice or a delicious Bahama Mamma! Continuing on downtown, you can explore different little shops, the large downtown Straw Market, or make your way over to Paradise Island to explore Atlantis or Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. Make sure to take a dip in the iconic and tranquil waters of Cabbage Beach while you’re over “P.I.” – and stop for a drink and a massive burger at Green Parrot Pub on the Nassau Harbour on your way back. Buses stop running around 6:30/nightfall and run on “island time” (aka there is NO set schedule). There are various locations to rent a car or scooter (or paddleboard if you want), you can arrange this in advance or just ask us and we can help you out! Getting to us from the airport is fairly straightforward, you can pick-up a prearranged rental car from the airport and follow our directions, take a taxi (approximately $30 one-way to Cable Beach - CASH ONLY), or you can ask us to arrange your airport pick-up for a small fee. If you would like us to pick you up, just let us know if you would like to make any stops along the way to liquor stores or grocery stores, or if you would like to stop for a beachside Daiquiri, it’s up to you.
