The space THE THREE BEARS CABIN HOME DESCRIPTION This vintage 1950s home was beautiful to begin with, but over the last few years, it's had most every surface refinished and remodeled, with custom touches like hand-crafted stair rails, a cozy master reading nook, and a Three Bears wood-sawn mural. Please note: *37 steps to the front door. Twin Peaks is 4 miles (about 10 minutes) away from Lake Arrowhead Village, and perched about a 1,000 feet higher in the forest ridge above the lake. It truly is an alpine setting. With giant White Firs (the Christmas Tree-looking ones) that only grow at this elevation, and that quaint small-town feel that surprisingly still exists, we fell in love with this place. Guests can enjoy the many other comfortable amenities that our house provides. Our home is heated by a mounted wall heater and wood-burning fireplace original to the home. HOME AMENITIES The main living area welcomes you with faux-fur draped log couches, a brick hearth, and a cute little twin bed in the corner for kids to nap or play on in the company of lounging parents. The fully-remodeled adjacent kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. LIVINGROOM: The main living area is adjacent to the kitchen and has cozy & comfortable seating for guests. Our home is heated by a mounted wall heater and wood-burning fireplace original to the home. KITCHEN: The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, toaster, microwave, tea kettle, dishes, glassware and cookware & coffee maker. *For the coffee-lovers, we have a 12-cup coffee maker with glass carafe that brews regular ground coffee with basket filters. BEDROOMS: Up the beautifully-crafted stairs and around the corner sits the large master bedroom alone on the third floor. Inside, a log-framed 4-poster bed awaits to wisk you away to dreamland. Before you drift off though, sit back with a book in the custom reading nook that we think is its own little dreamland. Walk downstairs from the living room and you'll find three beds (one twin-over-twin bunk and one double bed), and a hand-made wood mural of the Three Bears coming back home to a sleeping Goldilocks (please note: we have a space heater to keep the downstairs bedroom cozy, too!). BATHROOMS: The two bathrooms are fully tiled in unique patterns and feature stone counters and marble vessel sinks. DECK: Outside the main room bay window is a spacious deck high above street level with views of the forest and ridgeline beyond. We've been steadily working on this cabin, and all those hand-crafted wood touches you'll see are our way of paying homage to a long-lost art. We hope we've created a memorable place for you and your loved ones to relax and enjoy. ** OUR NEIGHBORHOOD Located in Lake Arrowhead’s Twin Peaks Neighborhood: This serene area is an ideal getaway for the whole family and makes a great home base for all of the summer and winter activities Lake Arrowhead and San Bernardino Mountain Resorts have to offer. A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you. Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT? A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding. PARKING: There is convenient parking on the driveway - please avoid parking on the street because there is a strictly enforced no-parking zone on our street. *37 steps to the front entrance. There is a flight of steps (outside) to the main entrance of the home (this is quite common for the mountain community) and a steep staircase (inside) to the second floor (be sure to use the handrails). Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED? A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest. **NOISE DISTURBANCES - Please be respectful of all neighbors. Noise travels easily in the mountains & we ask that our guests be respectful of the full-time residents that live nearby. Your reservation is for a quiet, relaxing & enjoyable stay! **MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at all times. Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED? A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes. **San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times. As a guest, you are welcome to use all of the amenities provided. We want our guests to enjoy all we have to offer. All we ask is that you treat our home with care. Happy Travels! Other things to note Our home is heated by a mounted wall heater and wood-burning fireplace original to the home. There is no A/C in the home - we do have fans. *37 steps to the front door. -Sorry, no pets/animals. **We promise our allergy-sensitive guests a pet/dander-free home. -Smoke-free home. No smoking or vaping. **Thank you! -Wood-burning fireplace: Bring a bundle of firewood if you'd like to cozy up next to the fireplace! **Please bring your own supply of firewood and you may want to bring a duraflame log or firelighters to help with starting the fireplace. This is an original, wood-burning fireplace with no gas supply. -No BBQing/Grilling on premises. **Due o the Extreme Fire Danger** To reduce risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet/Wi-Fi interruptions and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests! Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP? A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions. Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE? A: During the SNOWY season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when traveling mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires. Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW? A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our driveway, steps, entry and deck are not. Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay. **Snow shovels are located at the cabin -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy. We look forward to sharing our mountain retreat with you! Cheers, David & Patricia Registration Details CESTRP-2020-00372
