The space Our overwater Eco Cottage on Vashon is a rare solar-powered home on pilings located on a private beach in Quartermaster Harbor on the Burton Peninsula. A short walk down to the wrap-around deck will find you nestled in views and surrounded by wildlife. Quartermaster Harbor is an Audubon hot spot. Hear the water under you during high tide and beach comb the bounty of the Salish Sea during low tide. You will enjoy a large bay window with a skylight over the water to the east, French doors that open onto the deck to the north, and a garden window to the south. At only 500 sq ft, the cottage is a cozy, elegant abode made for two. Please note that unless otherwise agreed, no children are allowed to stay. Surrounded on all sides by nature, it features an organic queen mattress and bed linens. A chaise couch pulls out to a full-size mattress in addition to the queen-size bed, when needed. The kitchen is fully equipped. We have a flat screen tv for watching movies with the dvd player and broadband wi-fi for accessing high-speed internet. Guest access Walk-in access provides seclusion and it is best to be prepared that carrying luggage and groceries down stairs may be a bit difficult, so be sure to plan accordingly. There are 39 stairs/steps down to the cottage from our driveway above and a grassy knoll that can be slippery when wet. Please review the photos, captions, and use caution. Be advised that this access is not safe for anyone requiring a service animal. Other things to note Private-entry gravel drive permits one car to park. Exiting the drive requires backing out. Additional parking is available on the street. BE SURE to bring your own toiletries. The sleeping area is separated by linen curtains from the rest of the cottage living space (480 sq feet :) The new TV/DVD player is for movies only—no cable TV. Guests can watch from an eclectic collection of our movies, rent their own at the Redbox inside Vashon Thriftway market, or log on to their own streaming services via our internet connection (100 mbps).
