Myra's Cottage is in a mountain cove 31 miles from Asheville. Entire house (except basement), yard, creek and surrounding forest is yours to enjoy. 2 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, living room, breakfast nook, screened porch, carport with electric vehicle charger. The space Myra's Cottage is tucked in a mountain cove we call Owl Holler and borders Pisgah National Forest. Located near historic Stackhouse and just a mile above a main whitewater access point for the French Broad River, Myra’s Cottage offers serene comfort for retreat, recreation and renewal. Resting in a meadow surrounded by forested ridges and two creeks, the cottage provides privacy in a beautiful mountain setting. The cottage has access to many trails that are located on the surrounding 72 acre property. The modern cottage includes two bedrooms (queen beds), fully equipped kitchen, dining nook, living room, bathroom with tub/shower, carport with EV charger and a large screened porch that overlooks Barney’s Branch. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, ceiling fans, central air & heat, unlimited fiber optic broad band and Wifi, streaming TV with DVD/VHS player and video library, and all necessary linens ensure convenience and comfort. The living room sofa can sleep 2. The futon couch on porch folds out to make a double bed. The Ping Pong table on the porch challenges you to relive your summer camp days or offers an opportunity to learn a new sport. We provide firewood for the outdoor fire pit. Myra’s Cottage is located strategically for quick access to all major attractions. 1.5 miles form Hwy 25/70, 1 mile from French Broad River access, 4 miles from Appalachian Trail, 8 miles from Hot Springs, 10 miles from Marshall, 31 miles (35 minutes) from Asheville. Hiking, biking, paddling, and nature emersion options galore are at your doorstep. The yard, adjoining fields, woods and the creek are at your disposal. Other things to note We live 400 feet up the holler from the cottage. We share the driveway and need you to leave room for our vehicles to pass the cottage. Cleaning Protocol I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights: ◦ I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob ◦ I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies ◦ I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists ◦ I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay ◦ I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines Waterfall Liability Waiver There is a waterfall on our property. It’s ¼ mile up the creek. It’s gorgeous and worth the walk. We invite you to visit the falls. But they are high and potentially dangerous. Consequently, we require our guests to sign a liability waiver to make sure everyone is aware of the risks. Copies of the waiver will be in the cottage. Just sign and drop them off at our house when you make your first trip to “High Falls”.
