Business license #2223. After 2 guests I charge $13 extra each per night, per person, including infants. I also charge $78 per pet. I have a security camera in the front. There are 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed. There is also a sleep sofa and an airbed. Relax and enjoy. Ventura has been voted one of the best places to vacation. There is an extra room with 2 twin beds, please ask me about that. Not a true bedroom. Regarding Covad-19. We always take extra care with the cleaning of Coral Cottage. I make my own cleaner to avoid all the nasty chemical cleaners. I mix vinegar (many do not know that vinegar is an antibacterial) water, Mrs. Myers cleaning solution, and now I am adding propyl alcohol and tea tree oil to amplify the effect. There is hand sanitizer for your convenience, but the best is washing your hands for 30 seconds. Please wash your hands when you return home and follow all suggested precautions from the CDC. I added hand sanitizer to the hand wipes on the kitchen counter. Please do not put these in the toilets. There is isopropyl alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. My maid wipes all handles, doorknobs, and cabinets, and I am wiping them a second time. Coral Cottage is a block to the beach. I have a security camera in the front. Coral Cottage is a not a large house, but it is comfy. When I first saw this house, I was hooked. It so reminded me of the house my parents bought in the 50's. Flat-roofed with a slab foundation. The kitchen is the central area of the cottage, with a counter looking into the living room. With two skylights, natural light floods the house all day. Wherever possible, I have tried to make it sustainable. We removed all the old carpet, laminate flooring and linoleum (from the 50's) tile. The use of low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paints was very important to me, as I did not want there to be any out-gassing. The exterior was light blue with turquoise trim. We repainted it a light gray and turquoise and added a touch of Coral around the windows. I found a cool door that looks like it is from the 50's. The original concrete floors were stripped and shined. I had the kitchen cabinets refaced instead of replacing them. We also reconditioned the original wood windows. Wherever possible, I have used cotton and natural fibers. The lawn was removed with the "sheet mulching" process and replaced with mushroom compost. It takes longer, but there were no chemicals used. I use vinegar on pesky weeds. The garden is a work in process. There are California natives, succulents (from my BFF's daughter's wedding), and other drought tolerant plants. The toilets and shower heads are low flow. I started growing milk weed. During the summer, there may be caterpillars munching their way to chrysalis. My cleaning service is allergic to chlorine, so I am thrilled to say that she is familiar with the cleaning and sterilizing qualities of vinegar and baking soda. We also use Mrs. Myers products. Both bedrooms feature a comfy queen bed with all the pillows and blankets you will need, and French doors that lead out to the backyard. The main bedroom has a bathroom with a shower, and a garden window with my shell collection. There are local brochures on what to do in Ventura and surrounding areas. Lots of amazing surf spots nearby including Ventura Point, Pitas Point and Rincon. There is a gas grill, a big screen SmartTV, blow dryers in each bathroom, a lovely patio table and chairs in the backyard, and table for dining al fresco. There is also an Airbed, a Pac ‘n Play, and sofa bed (there is an extra charge for more than 2+ people). There are 2 twin beds, but not utilized as a bedroom. The kitchen has a full size gas/convection oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, French press (you might find some coffee in the freezer), coffee bean grinder, crock pot, and plenty of cooking utensils. Each bedroom door has a full-length mirror on the back. There are 2 sets of sheets for each bedroom, the bathrooms have plenty of towels. Plus, there are beach towels in the hall closet. Please do not use the bathroom towels for the beach. The Pier is about 1.5 miles north, the bike path and state beach are about 4 blocks north. Marina beach is about a ½ mile south. It is great for children. Ventura is a not only a city, but a county with numerous cities and communities with their own personalities. There is great hiking in the hills or on the Channel Islands. There are gray whale watching tours from late December through mid-April from Ventura Harbor, while Blue and Humpback whale watching trips are available from mid-June through mid-September. The County Fair is in August, and Surf Rodeo is in July. Downtown has lots of restaurants and shopping. We even have our own Seaward Village, just a few short blocks away. Many yummy restaurants, coffee shop, surf shop and frozen yogurt. There is an outlet mall in Camarillo. There are so many things to do while you are here, you will have to gooooogle it (spelled incorrectly or ABB will block it). Thank you for choosing Coral Cottage. Lastly, please enjoy yourselves. Your Coral Cottage Host, Donna These are some reviews that I received from the same house with just 1 bedroom. Check out Coral Cottage at the beach for my 4.5-5 star reviews. "Donna was such a wonderful host. We arrived a little later than expected and she was sweet enough to wait for us. She gave us lots of information that was very useful for our stay in Ventura. The house was clean and beautiful just like the pictures. The house is less than 5 minutes from the beach, which was amazing for our afternoon naps! We will definitely use this house in the future. We had an awesome time at the beach cottage." "Great location! Enjoyed the beach, just down the lane, and it was close to shopping, grocery store, and great restaurants. Our host gave us a list of local attractions and amenities which was helpful. The bike path is very close with easy access to the beach for a morning jog. We'll be back!" "Donna was very accommodating and welcoming, and flexible with our arrival timing and with adding a day to our reservation. She has some very thoughtful touches included at the cottage and it's obvious she wants to provide a comfortable getaway for visitors. The landscaping is a work in progress, which I am sure will be great when completed. Things like towels and bedding and individual packets of soap were all lovely. We were there during a super hot and humid spell (almost unheard of for this area, most of the time), thank goodness for the fan and the AC unit (although I think if we hadn't been with a wandering toddler we would have just opened up the back door to the patio and been fine with a cross breeze through the place). I grew up in Ventura and chose the cottage to be close to the beach, Marina Park, the bike trail. It's a casual, comfortable, easy and eclectic beach rental. Parking in the driveway or in front of it is very convenient on busy beach days. We would definitely stay here again (though I am sure it will cost more - and be worth it - as soon as the work-in-progress details like landscaping are finished). Donna was easily reachable and responsive to any questions or needs we had during our stay. Parking in front of the garage or on the street. I am available by cell phone or text. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is 11 am. Sometimes, I can be flexible with these times. The Lanes Area or Pierpont Beach is a quiet beach community with some beach cottages and larger homes. The beach with fabulous surfing and great sunsets is only a block away. Not only is there a state park about about 3 blocks north, there is Marina Park that is city owned about 3/4 mile to the south. It has great areas for a picnic, grills, a small zipline and even a miniature ship to explore. Seaward Village has great places to eat; 2 sports bar, burritos and tacos, Thai Food, coffee shop, Italian restaurant, CBD shop, surf shop and frozen yogurt. Von's Market is a full service grocery store with a pharmacy within walking distance. The same mall includes a Starbucks, laundry facilities, Meridian Cafe (Yummy sandwiches, pizza and salads), donuts, gas stations, Chase Bank Park your car and walk, bike. There is a bike rental service at the state beach about 4 blocks north of the house, and at the Marriott 2 blocks away. We even have Uber services around town. You can also take the train up and down the California Coast. Regarding Covad-19. We always take extra care with the cleaning of Coral Cottage. I make my own cleaner to avoid all the nasty chemical cleaners. I mix vinegar (many do not know that vinegar is an antibacterial) water, Mrs. Myers cleaning solution, and now I am adding propyl alcohol and tea tree oil to amp up the effect. My maid wipes all handles, door knobs and cabinets, and I am wiping them a second time. Thank you for staying at Coral Cottage. The City of Buenaventura requires all temporary vacation rentals to be registered and licensed. My permit is #2223. AN ADDITIONAL 10% REQUIRED TRANSIENT TAX WILL BE CHARGED AFTER YOU RECEIVE YOUR CHARGES FROM AIRBNB as a Special. I have a security camera in the front. The City is very serious about keeping residential neighborhoods quiet, and forbids parties and loud social events between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m, There are beach chairs, Boogie boards, towels and folding beach mats in the closet. There is a trolley that runs down the street, from Wednesday until Sundays, that hits the harbor, downtown areas, and the fairgrounds. The bike path and San Buenaventura State Beach is only a few blocks north, where you can rent beach cruisers and surreys, I furnish 2 bikes with a lock. Take advantage of the Jolly Oyster Food Truck that is next to the Wheel Fun kiosk. It is located at the State Park. You can bring your own drinks and enjoy fresh seafood outside. Keep going north and you will run into the Pier, and then to the State Fairgrounds. There are volleyball nets set up at the end of San Pedro St, next to the park. I have a volleyball in one of the linen closets. Be prepared to layer. We may have a beautiful hot day, and then it could be cool later in the day or evening. What to do in Ventura: Of course, the beach-lovely and not too crowded. Surfing, SUP, sunbathing and swimming. I have not seen the tar on our beaches that you see in Santa Barbara. Channel Islands for kayaking and hiking. Boat excursions to the Channel Islands and whale watching(Jan-Apr). Bell Arts Factory for art, yoga classes, tai chi, community. There are also galleries around town. Take a drive up to Serra Cross Park for fantastic views of the bay. Music scene-live, music. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Ventura Rocks for more info about Ventura's vibrant music scene. Restaurants-plenty. Check out my guide book on my site, or there is a printed version in the living room.
