The Salty Dog is a cozy little sea shanty nestled in the heart of Winchester Bay, a sleepy little fishing community where the mighty Umpqua River and the Pacific collide. Steep yourself in the breathtaking wonderland that is the land of the Umpqua. Windy Bay offers world class fishing, crabbing, clamming, mushroom hunting, bird watching and is home to the Oregon dunes. A stone's throw away from the harbor, our lil' home delivers an authentic experience of this special coastal community. The space The Salty Dog may be small but has been lovingly adorned with heartfelt details that make this place feel like home. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood bordered by a hillside of deciduous trees. Inside you'll find a funky, eclectic space that reflects the beauty of the land that surrounds it. With a library full of books relevant to the region, guests can immerse themselves in a truly authentic experience. With a super comfortable queen sized bed and 2 memory foam sleeper sofas, there is room for everyone... The backyard offers a private deck, encompassed by a diverse variety of foliage and is sheltered from the wind, providing a lovely space to relax after a day spent soaking in the majestic Oregon coast. We offer crab traps, beach toys, kites, Roku TV, Wi-fi and more... Guest access This space includes the whole house, a private backyard, a washer and dryer and covered carport (hosts occasionally utilize the small house on the property which is accessed through the carport) Other things to note ***Unfortunately at this time, due to the COVID19 virus we must raise our cleaning fee to $100 as our cleaning service will be required to spend significantly more time thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting between guests. It is very important to us to provide a clean and sterile environment to ensure our guests are as safe and healthy as possible while staying at the Salty Dog. We will continue to work diligently to provide a clean and comfortable space for folks to enjoy for the duration of the current health crisis.
