Description

The road to the Sled at Fielder Farm gently winds its way out of the Huntington Valley and into the foothills on the western side of Camel's Hump. The road follows and crosses one of the many mountain brooks swelling the Hunting River as it rushes for the Huntington Gorge downstream. Regardless of the season, the diverse landscape occupied by Fielder Farm offers visitors a variety of activities right out the front door. The space The Sled, a newly constructed upside-down house nestled in the woods at the base of Camels Hump, is an ideal gathering place for couples, families and large groups looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Vermont. The 2nd-floor kitchen/living area is comfortably furnished and well equipped. The wood stove keeps it cozy in winter and the upside-down configuration of the kitchen, living area, and 2nd floor deck catch the afternoon sun and cool breezes in summer. Very near the Camels Hump Trailhead, Sugarbush, Mad River, Bolton Valley, and the Catamount Trail. Guest access Three bedrooms with similar appointments, one off the second floor living space and two downstairs, make sharing the Sled uncomplicated. Each with its own personality, these queen bedrooms are simply furnished with new, name brand mattresses. The fourth bedroom and its bunkbed is ideal for kids and extra guests. All beds and baths are supplied with quality cotton linens and towels. Extra linens, towels, beach towels and blankets are kept in the laundry room for the convenience of our guests. Other things to note House Rules for the Sled The "no pets" policy at the Sled is strictly enforced. Please alert any guests you have traveling with you or that you may be entertaining on the property during your stay of this policy before they arrive. The Sled was built to host a maximum of 8 guests. We do not overbook. Please take off your shoes before going upstairs. This is how the floors in the Sled stay beautiful for all our guests. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the Sled -and merely tolerated outdoors. Please do not throw your butts off the deck or anywhere else on the property. We understand addiction, not pollution. Please do not change the settings on the air exchanger. The air exchanger has nothing to do with the temperature of the Sled. Please keep the windows locked in the winter. In summer, if showers are expected, close the windows before you leave for the day. Summer showers and strong winds can come out of nowhere. Do not let wind-driven rain flood the house. Please recycle responsibly. Vermont law requires recycling. Clean paper and rinsed plastic, glass, and metal can be recycled together in the second trash can under the sink. Please turn off the light/fan when not using the shower. Prolonged running of the shower fan can affect the way the woodstove draws. When it is time to leave …. (Please keep in mind that we do not charge a cleaning fee and do all the cleaning ourselves.) Strip all beds that were used. Collect and pile sheets, pillowcases, and used towels outside the door to the laundry. Empty all trash cans and combine with the kitchen trash. Clean paper and rinsed plastic, glass and metal should be bagged separately from household trash. Please do not make us separate your trash. All trash and recyclables should be tied up and put in the outside containers in the trash shed. Because we personally take care of the trash and the recyclables, please be considerate with your trash, especially baby diapers. Do not clean out the woodstove. Collect all dishes, load the dishwasher and turn it on. Hand wash any dishes not suited for the dishwasher and leave the sink empty and wiped out. Wipe down kitchen counters and appliances. Turn off all lights and return keys to the mudroom bench Registration details MRT-10126712
