Welcome to the Sarah E Krenson house built in 1873, a named house on Savannah's historical register, on beautiful sought after Jones St., considered to be the prettiest street in the South! Take a step back into a time seeped in Southern history along cobblestone streets with ancient live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. Gorgeous squares and architecture abound. Located in a close in downtown area near restaurants, shopping, and all that Savannah has to offer. Peaceful, beautiful, elegant. The space The Sarah Elizabeth house on Jones is a 3000 sq ft townhome which has been lovingly updated while still retaining it's historic charm and personality. Each of the 4 bedrooms has it's own dedicated full bathroom, quite rare in a historic home. There is plenty of space for fun get togethers as well as privacy. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc, as well as a double oven and a gas stove cooktop. Also a drip coffeemaker and a krueig. There is a comfortable sitting area in the kitchen as well. A private courtyard is right off the kitchen area. The perfect spot for morning coffee or evening glass of wine. In the dining room is a huge dining room table with seating for 8. The living room is in the front of the house where the adorable half bath is located. The second and third floor each have 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The back second floor queen bedroom also has a futon. The 2 back bedrooms have en suite full bathrooms. The 2 front bedrooms each have a dedicated full bathroom in the hallway. Washer and dryer on the third floor. Parking is quite easy, and reasonable for a close in downtown location! Parking is free nights, weekends and holidays. There is a $1/hour charge between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday thru Friday. A small vehicle can be parked within the courtyard if needed. This is the only vacation rental that we have, so we are not spread thin with multiple homes to care for. You are the only guests that we will have to take of while you are there. It is our goal to be available for any questions or concerns, and to work hard to make sure your vacation is wonderful. Other things to note Our block on Jones Street has been in several movies including "In the Garden of Good and Evil", Disney's "Lady and the Tramp" and "Glory" It's the perfect combination of close to downtown, yet peaceful, quiet. This is one of the most photographed spots in Savannah. Savannah is a walking city with restaurants, shopping and bars around the corner or a short walk from our house to the downtown business district, including Plant Riverside, a must see. A car is not necessary for our location. The walk is truly beautiful, with lots of squares to just sit and enjoy your day. A car will be required to go to Tybee Island, about a 30 minute drive, with miles of pristine beech. Another point of interest that will require a car is Boneventure Cemetery, about a 15 minute drive. There is a Kroger grocery store nearby, 15 minute walk, that does deliver food.
