Rocky Haven: Tranquil Lakeside Cottage Near Acadia

Rocky Haven: A Lakefront Home close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The space Rocky Haven is a charming cottage situated amongst evergreens just 100 feet from the shore. It is one of 3 Havens we make available. Enjoy cooking fresh Maine lobster and blueberry pie in a full kitchen, or grill in the open air on a gas grill. Experience the sun setting over the lake while listening to loons call. The cottages are 7/10s of a mile from Acadia Highway on the way to Bar Harbor. We are 30 miles from Acadia national Park (31 miles from Bar Harbor), 8 miles from Bucksport, 16 miles to Blue Hill, 19 miles from Castine, 28 miles to Belfast, and 27 miles to Bangor (International Airport). So we are strategically located for you to discover the wonders of the Maine coast. Rocky Haven is a 4 season home with all the amenities (washer & dryer, dishwasher, furnace, and a heat pump/air conditioner in the master bedroom). The living room is the perfect place to sit and relax after a day of adventure in Acadia or kayaking right on the pond, while you watch your favorite program on a 55" 4K flat screen Smart TV with a Roku streaming Fubo TV (200+ channels - Wireless Internet included 1 Gig Fiber). Listening to the loon calls from the dock or from the 400 square foot screened in deck is such a treat any time of day; especially while watching the sun set over the pond (or lake: 8.5 miles long). For chilly evenings, a furnace will warm the entire home right up. Rest comfortably on a king sized bed in the lake view loft master bedroom. There are double/twin bunk beds in the other two bedrooms. Each floor has a full bathroom. Water comes from a drilled well so reliance on lake water is unnecessary. Guests for our 3Havens have shared private access to the dock and swim platform. Each unit has its own fire pit area and free use of 2 kayaks and a canoe (a waiver of liability must be signed for usage). Because of the cold season here in Maine, the dock goes in the lake the 2-3rd week of May and is removed the 1st week of November. Both Toddy and Cozy Havens share a new laundry facility behind the upper garage that has two washers and two dryers. Facility is available and free for use and we supply the laundry detergent. That facility is open from 3:30pm until 11:59pm. We have put this schedule into place so that our cleaners can do laundry during their cottage cleaning before 4pm check-ins arrive. Toddy Haven is brand new and is furnished with a full kitchen, 1 full bath, and sleeps up to 5. You can find each of them on Airbnb. Cozy Haven has 1 1/2 baths, a full kitchen and sleeps up to 7. Rocky Haven is a home away from home with washer/dryer and dishwasher and sleeps up to 8. No animals are allowed on our properties due to family members with severe asthma issues. No exceptions. Guest access The entire Chalet is rented to one guest’s party and is not shared. The dock is a shared space. However, each cottage has their own kayaks and canoe. The dock goes in the second to third week in May and comes out of the water by the first week in November. Parking is available for each cabin Other things to note The lakefront and dock are shared spaces between Cozy, Rocky and Toddy Havens. We recommend that guests use water shoes while wading in the lake. Each of our 3 havens are entirely separate units with their own accommodations; including their own kayaks, canoes and fire pits. It is best to arrive during daylight hours as the private road in (.7 mi.) is unlighted. This is a normal lakeside home phenomenon but one to be considered. In either case, our directions sent a few days beforehand will help greatly!
