Bucolic cottage on the water

Orléans, located 1 hour from Paris, ideal place to visit the Loire Valley and its castles (Chambord, Cheverny, Amboise, etc.) Old boat garage built in the 19th century, with independent and fenced garden on the banks of the water. A canoe is available for rides on the river. Close to nature, ducks, water hens, swans, etc. will live among you. The chalet is also close to an urban road allowing you to go to Orléans in 10 minutes. The space The chalet is a small atypical 30 m² house that can accommodate 2 guests. It consists of a living room with a sitting area and TV. An open kitchen fully equipped with a complete set of equipment: oven, kettle, toaster, Tassimo coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave). A mezzanine bedroom, accessible with a miller's ladder without a railing, as well as a small shower room with toilet. Guests can enjoy a private garden and a 2-seater canoe for rides on the water. You can also admire the wildlife and watch the boats pass by on the terrace or pontoon and even fish there. A small barbecue is also available to guests. The chalet is on our property, so you will have to go through our garden where you can perhaps be welcomed by our 2 Dalmatians before accessing your small cocoon which is independent and not overlooked. Access will be via a small path with steps. Please note that wheeled suitcases will not be effective and access is not possible for people with limited mobility. In winter, in addition to electric heating, you can make a small fire for a romantic moment. We provide a small welcome basket, but we can also prepare a large basket for €25. If you prefer, you can also bring your wood, as long as it is small, thin logs of 30 cm maximum. We are in the city, close to an urban road and therefore not in the countryside, without any noise outside. In the chalet, calm and a change of scenery are assured! You may be surprised by the time spent doing nothing while admiring the wildlife, ducks, moorhens, swans, frogs but also the flora that you will only see by the water. Feet in the water! A beautiful place to enjoy nature, but also go to Comet or Zenith a few meters away and stroll through the historic streets of Orleans, or visit the Loire Valley castles (Chambord, Blois, Amboise, ...) Guest access The Chalet is located next to Orléans and is accessible by train from Austerlitz Station (1 hour), then by tram (direct line), bus or taxi to the destination, or directly by car (1.5 hours from the center of Paris). You can park in our private (but not fenced) parking lot in front of our property, which is about 60 m from the chalet. Bikes can be put in our closed driveway. Please note that to get to the cottage, you will have to take a small wooded path. We want to make it clear that the place is not accessible to people with reduced mobility or disabilities. Do not bring large suitcases as your wheels will be useless. Other things to note We are renovating the chalet and the garden gradually so that you like this place, and we try to keep the soul and the atypical spirit of this historic place dating from the 19th century. The advantages: The private garden, terrace and barbecue Direct access to the river 1 kayak 1 wood-burning stove For wood, please ask 48 hours in advance so that we can prepare it for you. The kayak is unsinkable, these kayaks have drain holes on their floor, which makes them self-draining. It is therefore normal to have water at the bottom of the hull. We added plugs because some people were complaining, but we can't put them on all the holes, it would become dangerous because depending on the amount of water that would enter when the travelers paddle, it could sink. In winter, canoeing is not recommended if you are not equipped. Indeed the water is very cold in winter and depending on the seasons, it can be difficult to practice this activity. In some seasons the height of the Loiret is quite high and the dock may be a little under water. It is therefore recommended to take shoes that are not afraid of water (flip flops, boots), because you will have to put your feet in the water to put the kayak in the water. Check-in is from 4 p.m. onwards. A key box is available for a free and independent arrival. Check-out is no later than 11 a.m., just put the keys back in the key box and the instructions in the mailbox below.
