Stunning views of Cathedral Rock from this 1/3 acre property from inside as well as outside of cabin. Sit on covered porch or on patio set under the trees, savoring the fresh air, captivating view, and multitude of birds. You will be in the direct path of a powerful vortex, and can enjoy the privacy and solitude of the entire cabin and the naturalistic environment. I posted a sign on the property which designates 50 Zane Grey Lane as a Wildlife Safe Area. This cabin can sleep six if you are close family and at least one is a child: one bedroom with firm European plush top queen bed, a carpeted loft with queen bed and stair access, and a convertible sofa, double bed, thick mattress, in great room. Note: the loft is open to the living room without doors, and has low ceilings, so may not be comfortable for taller adults. Please realize that this is a genuine cabin -- a retreat, a getaway. It was built in 1960 and I have updated it considerably, but it may not suit people who are intolerant of noises (as explained already), or need an extra warm house in winter or extra cold home in summer! I provide several room heaters and fans, but my central source of air conditioning and heating is two new mini splits, ceiling fans, an attic venting fan (solar) and a heatilator fireplace. I will not refund your stay unless the conditions are significantly "uncomfortable". Note the reviews of nearly all guests who have loved the cabin experience. The cabin comes with complete kitchen and bath, all linens and towels included, clothes washer and dryer, fireplace, fire starters, as well as new Weber barbecue grill and patio set in backyard. NO Toxins or pesticides are used here -- we are designated as a Wildlife Protection Property! There are games, c.d. player, books, and great hikes. We also have TV with Dish and Amazon firestick, DVD; reliable hi-speed wireless internet, and free landline phone service to all 50 states. The back of property drops down to a dry creek wash where javelinas, quail and coyote often visit. With rains it becomes a creek which you will thrill to sit beside on our bank. You'll have a very short walk or drive to Crescent Moon Ranch Park with access to Oak Creek, an area open to hiking and creek access. It is incredibly scenic (full view of Cathedral Rock) and wooded as well. Since the cabin is in a small neighborhood surrounded by National Forest, you can hike or mountain bike from our door. Restaurants I especially like are: Thai Palace -- eat on their lovely patio; Mariposa or Dahl & DiLuca -- very special for celebrations-- excellent and worth the extra cost. Most magic for us were our 2 times daily hikes into the Oak Creek area. I have always wanted to walk forever in a creek bed and to then plunge into swimming holes! How glorious to find this dream right here! so much stream…so many swimming holes magically showing up. Too little time! Though we did have a wonderful week, and so many quiet areas of delicious sanctuary where we just sat for hours falling into each moment. Thanks for this great spot! Keyless electronic locks, patio with table and chairs under juniper tree, great place to have your meals and chat under the stars. I live in Sedona from mid-November - April and my property manager is a Northern AZ expert! One exceptional neighborhood with world savvy neighbors. Ask about them. Neighbors will not tolerate outdoor fires (except in barbeque grill) and are likely to call the fire department -- you will be fined! Plenty of parking and no disturbances as you are off the beaten path. No easy access to public transportation. Ceiling crackling noises can be disturbing to light sleepers. My contractor has managed to reduce the creaking ceiling sounds; I keep earplugs and encourage you to enjoy the good "presence" if that explains the sounds! My architect friend explained that it is wood rubbing against wood when temperatures differ over 25 degrees. There is NO mail delivery at this address. For longer stays, please arrange to pick up general delivery at the main post office. I have an attachment I send with suggested places to visit (and some to avoid) and restaurants I recommend.
