Beautifully restored 1892 apartment in the heart of Morrison's national historic district offers Victorian elegance with many modern conveniences. The 800 sq ft apartment includes original Doug Fir flooring, 10 ft high ceilings, pocket doors, claw-foot tub, custom cabinets and cherry island. Perched above an art gallery, this is the perfect clean and quiet retreat for work or leisure. The space At the turn of the century 112 E. Main was a gentleman’s suit shop. I like to imagined the tailor returning to this comfortable apartment after a long days work. Much of the original cabinetry from the suit shop still exists in what is now The Loft art gallery. Also, the large green chest of drawers in the apartment is original to the shop. The cherry counter tops, coffee bar and island all come from wood milled just north of town and custom made for the space by my father in-law. The building is filled with character, truly an example of recent and historic craftsmanship. It should be noted that the apartment is on the second floor of a commercial building, so the guest(s) will need to go up 21 steps for access. Guest access You will have access to the entire apartment, however, there is one private closet in the bathroom that contains cleaning supplies and such. I will leave it unlocked as it also contains the breaker box. The apartment does have a designated closet for hanging clothes and storing luggage. There is a door that leads to the art gallery on the north wall that will be kept locked from both sides.
