Recently restored to a high standard, the guesthouse comes complete with a private wood-burning hot tub (October-May) that can be a plunge pool in summer and a larger shared swimming pool that can be private upon request. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are provided for your convenience. - Private Sun Deck: Soak up the sun on our full-length deck, featuring loungers and an outdoor dining area. The wood-burning hot tub is available from October to May, and during summer, it serves as a cool plunge pool. - Private Tea Garden: Escape to our charming tea garden, shaded by a beautiful orange tree and furnished with classic English cast iron seating for the perfect afternoon retreat. Casa Do Vale is designed for comfort in every season, with heating and air conditioning throughout the home. During winter, the living room’s log burner adds extra warmth and coziness, while sliding doors in the kitchen, bedroom, and living area open onto the private sun deck, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living. Private outdoor areas: - Sun Deck: Unwind on the deck with sun loungers, an outdoor dining area, and a private wood-burning hot tub that can be used with heating from October to May. In summer, it doubles as a refreshing plunge pool. - Tea Garden: Relax under the shade of our orange tree in a cozy tea garden, complete with English cast iron seating. Shared outdoor areas: - Swimming Pool: Enjoy a dip in the above-ground pool with a sunbathing deck. The pool is shared with our own private holiday home, but it can be private for your stay upon request. - Gardens: Stroll through five terraces of beautifully landscaped gardens, filled with fruit trees like oranges, lemons, olives, and tangerines, ready for you to pick and enjoy. Take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside from one of our garden seating areas. Guest access Parking: Casa Do Vale offers two convenient parking options. You can park on the quiet country road close to the house (approx 30 meters away), where there is plenty of space, or opt for our private gated parking. Please note that the gated parking may be a bit tricky for larger vehicles. Explore the Great Outdoors: Nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Casa Do Vale is perfectly placed for nature lovers. Take a swim at the nearby lake or river beaches, just a 15-20 minute drive away. If hiking is your passion, trails ranging from 1 to 50km start right at our gate. Plus, we’re located along the famous Caminho Português de Santiago pilgrimage route, offering even more opportunities to explore. Perfect Location: Casa Do Vale is ideally situated, just a 35-minute drive from the historic cities of Coimbra and Tomar, and 90 minutes from both Porto and Lisbon airports. Other things to note - Let’s talk summer! Due to the increased risk of forest fires in Central Portugal, we’re unable to light the wood-burning hot tub between June 1st and September 30th. But don’t worry when temperatures soar above 30°C, the hot tub becomes a refreshing plunge pool for you to cool off. We’ll also let you know in advance if it’s prohibited to light the tub during periods of high fire risk. Outside of these dates you’re able to light the hot tub, but occasionally we may get a fire ban even in October if the weather is still hot. We will inform you if this is the case. Other Things to Note: - We’re proud to be LGBTQ-friendly and warmly welcome all guests. - Digital Nomads: We’ve got you covered with super-fast Starlink internet 70+mb/s internet, perfect for staying connected. Our spacious dining table is ideal for two people. - In line with Portugal's Alojamento Local requirements, we’ll need a copy of your ID. You can either send it via message or provide it at check-in. - Rural Farming Notice: Casa Do Vale is surrounded by beautiful forest views, but occasionally (just a few days a year), you may hear logging activity, which is common in rural Portugal. By booking, you acknowledge that there may be occasional farming noise, a reality for most rural properties in the area. - BBQ/Grill: This is available to use during summer months from May-October.
