The Cornu Farmhouse (Waterfront)

CITQ-300945 The Cornu Farmhouse is a centennial house with a lot of the original cachet of an ancient era. It is the perfect place to relax in the scenery of the Ottawa river and the Gatineau hills. - Retreat at Le Nordik Spa - Beach - Kayak - Golf - Hiking to the Luskville waterfall - Quad and snowmobile trails - Ferry to Ottawa - Karting - Sugar bush - Horse chariot or sleigh ride - Fishing (No boat included) - Luskville racetrack - Small fruits and pumpkin picking (Eardley farm) The space This property was built in the late 1800 and was originaly a farm. The land is still 3 acres and you have access to the Ottawa river. The doors are still original with old locks and we have kept the original flooring and staircase. The bathrooms were renovated and there is a small studio that will eventually be accessible for additionnal bedding. Guest access The guest have access to the whole property. The electrical room and basement are reserved for the owner. Only the rooms to accommodate the correct number of guests will be unlocked. 2 guests - Room #1 3-4 guests - Room # 1 and 2 5 guests - Room # 1, 2 and 3 6 guests - Room # 1, 2 and 3 7 guests - Room All 4 rooms 8-9 guests - All 4 rooms There are 2 couchs that are in the two seperate living rooms that are tall enough to accomodate 2 more guest if you bring your sleeping bags and a pillow. Those two guests will also pay the additionnal fee per person. Other things to note The cottage is the perfect place to relax and you still have access to a corner store and restaurant that are 5 minutes away by car. For complete grocery stores you have to drive 25 minutes. The friendly neighbours dogs might come and visit you during your stay. One is a german sheppard named copper and the other is a bouvier-bernois named Gustave. We found important to add as a note since some guests might be affraid of dogs. The water from the faucet is drinkable (tested every year and always perfect). It will definetely taste different than city water and if your prefer, please bring you bottled water. There is a water cooler for 18L water bottle. One complimentary bottle will be on the cooler on your arrival. Swimming area : The cottage is located in a bay on the ottawa river. It is not a beach access and the water level is very hard to predict because of the various dam along the river. Sometimes there is only a feet of water beside dock and you will need to walk further into the bay to get the desired level. If you want to have the sandy beach swimming experience there are 2 beaches 20 minutes away from the cottage that will give you the perfect beach experience.
