Cabin #3 - The Walnut of Kal-Haven Outpost

Nearly everything contained in these cabins has been handmade on site. From the knotty pine paneling throughout, to the queen headboards, to the buffet, and the shoeracks (several cabins also have our handmade farmhouse tables/benches), we have placed our best foot forward in showing our guests true Southwest Michigan hospitality. The 6 cabins are located on our 50 acre property just 5 minutes from downtown South Haven. The adjoining Kal-Haven Trail also offers a scenic ride into the downtown! The space Each cabin has three queen beds and one queen sofa sleeper. They also have their own private handmade picnic table, handmade charcoal grill, and fire ring. In the center of the six cabins is a large community fire pit for larger groups or a gathering place to meet new friends! There are no bathrooms in any of the cabins; however, just a short walk away is our beautiful bathhouse which contains all of the space everyone might need a men's and women's side, 4 regular showers, and 1 fully accessible ADA compliant restroom/shower. Throughout the property we have utilized thousands of feet of locally harvested, sawed, and kiln-dried hickory/red oak from our Amish neighbors. This is readily apparent in the bathhouse and many fixtures that you will come across during your stay! There is also an even large community fire pit in the center of the property right next to the bathrooms. Feel free to make some new friends there as well! Guest access Guests may access any part of the 50 acre property aside from the manager's home and the privately rented duplex (also on Airbnb). There are 20 acres of woods, a stream, and plenty of walking paths throughout the property. You will love watching the sunrises, the sunsets, and stargazing each time you visit--there aren't many places like this! Other things to note One common question that we get is "Do you rent bicycles?" The answer is yes, we have a great partnership with Rock n' Road, the local bike shop. Their rentals are reasonably priced and will drop off/pick up for free. They have many sizes of bikes as well as supplemental equipment that you and your guests require. Simply let us know ahead of time and they will be waiting by the door!
