Charming Little Cabin on the Creek
Charming Little Cabin on the Creek
Description
Welcome to Rural Macres! Get away from it all when you stay at our creek-side cabin. Just through the farm, down the path and to the creek. You will love the view! This off the grid experience may not have running water, but you will definitely find the "reset button", allowing you to unwind, relax and clear your mind. Your privacy will likely only be interrupted by the ducks, geese, or swans. Depending on when you visit, it may even be the sandhill cranes or tundra swans as they migrate! The space Welcome to Rural Macres! The cabin is located at the back of our 106 acre farm. Inside, this is 12x32 lofted open concept living cabin. There is a king sized pull out couch on the main floor, and a double bed in the loft. There is a dining table and area to prepare your snacks and meals. You will want to bring a cooler to keep your food and beverages cold. There is a water dispenser for drinking water. The kitchenette area includes a kettle, electric griddle, toaster, coffee maker and all the basics such as plates and cutlery. You can choose to cook your meals over the open fire, or use the propane BBQ if you prefer. Outside, you will find a spacious dock on the creek, a fire pit with outdoor furniture and a stack of wood, and plenty of space to wander along the dyke. Just off the dyke is our field which will be planted with corn or beans depending on the year, so we just ask that everyone sticks to the paths and dyke. The bathroom facility is an outhouse private to the cabin. Its well maintained, and kept clean, but none the less, it is an outhouse! The creek's access to and from larger water ways by boat is dependent on water levels as we have low bridges in the area. We are happy to help you navigate the local waterways. The options are great around here! Guest access You will have access to your own little oasis at the creek. We live at the farm, so if you need anything, we are only a quick hop away. Just off the dyke is our field which will be planted with corn or beans depending on the year, from spring to fall. We also have over 1000 seedling trees planted, so we just kindly ask that our guests stick to the paths and the dyke to ensure nothing gets damaged. Other things to note The cabin is wired to run on a gas generator. There are electrical outlets, lights and a ceiling fan that run from the generator. We are happy to help get it started and show you how it works. There is a portable electric AC unit for the summer months and a propane heater for the winter. We provide a ride back to the cabin to settle you in an assist with the transportation of your belongings on our golf cart. From there, it is about a 10-15 minute walk back to where you park your car. At the end of your stay, I am happy to assist in getting you and your belongings back to your car as well. We do not allow vehicles to drive through the field back to the cabin. If there is something that will help make your stay more comfortable, just ask. We are happy to help.
