Sophisticated rural charm in a beautifully renovated 200-year-old cottage in a tranquil Limousin hamlet. Generations of families have made Charzat their home. Now you too can discover its secret. Enjoy the wonderful walks and views all on the doorstep of this former farmer’s cottage which comes with all the modern amenities. This charming countryside retreat sleeps 10, with five bedrooms all en suite and has been adapted to cater for people with limited mobility. Small dogs welcome. The space Open the traditional latch front door and you enter a large living room / kitchen with comfy sofas & an open fire place. The country style handmade kitchen has granite work surfaces, Belfast sink with range cooker, Smeg fridge and all the crockery and glasses you will need for your stay. A large French table is in the middle of the kitchen de so you can chat while dinner is being made. Downstairs there is a large bedroom with French doors overlooking the garden with a large en suite wet room with travertine flooring and plenty of space for wheelchair access. To the front of the house there is a stylish snug room where you chill out with a glass of wine and read. The cottage has two staircases leading to four bedrooms, all en suite. The 5th bedroom being on the ground floor for guests with limited mobility. This room is accessible by wheelchair & the wet room is accessible by wheel chair as well with a raised toilet installed for easier use. Each room is furnished with classic French items that we have collected over the years and matched with stylish cushions, handmade rugs and paintings by local artists. All floors are pine wooden boards, the doors and staircases are dark petrol blue complementing the white walls and exposed beams to create a clean modern feel with a twist. Each en suite has a large shower, clean white classic tiles with white fluffy towels and toiletries provided. ** We have worked so hard on the interior now Spring is here we shall be putting our finishing touches on the swimming pool, terrace & garden. Guest access The village is no a through road - so the only traffic is your neighbour or the local farmer with his tractor. Ample parking is available next to the house. Vehicles are necessary as we are in the countryside but we are perfectly situated only 5 minutes away from RN145 which takes you to Bellac (our main local town). Limoges is 45 minutes away & Poitiers about 1 hour. The A20 is accessible via RN145. There are plenty of local walks from the village either by the road, the old train track or chemins (pathways) We even have our own village pathway, created by our neighbours so we can all walk down to the local river. Other things to note There is a ramp at the front of the house for wheelchair/pushchair access via the French doors into the snug. The ground floor bedroom has a double bed with space around it for a wheel chair, plus the en suite wet room has plenty of turning space and the toilet is raised for easier use.
