The apartment is completely private, with its own lockable door for added security. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen or double bed, dressed in luxury Sheridan bedding to ensure a restful night's sleep. The kitchen is fully equipped with essentials, including a coffee machine, SodaStream, and all the basics for preparing meals at home. Relax in the cozy lounge area, where you can unwind with Free-to-Air TV, Netflix, AppleTV+, YouTube Premium, or stream from your own device using our high-speed fibre-to-the-premises NBN internet. The original industrial windows, combined with warm lighting, create a bright and inviting atmosphere that’s both quirky and comfortable. Our reclaimed timber staircase, originally part of a fire escape from Flinders Street, adds a touch of history and character to the space. This unique blend of vintage charm and modern convenience makes our home truly one-of-a-kind. Location & Host Interaction: Nestled in the heart of Seddon, our home is within easy walking distance of parks, boutique shops, and public transport, making it a perfect base for exploring Melbourne. We love sharing our local tips and are always available if you need any recommendations or assistance during your stay—offering the original Airbnb experience of connection and hospitality, with the added privacy of a self-contained apartment. Why Choose Us: As our primary residence, our home is exempt from the new 7.5% short stay tax in Victoria (from 2025), giving you even better value for your stay. Plus, past guests have loved the unique character of our space and the warm, welcoming vibe that makes it feel like a true home away from home. Come and experience the best of both worlds—a private, quirky retreat with the added comfort of accessible hosts—ready to make your stay in Seddon the best it can be! Guest access You'll have exclusive use of the 3-bedroom apartment with living and dining space, kitchen and bathroom, one floor up from ground level. There is one staircase and entryway shared with the apartment above (where we live) and the other AirBnB below. Guests are welcome to use the laundry in our home upstairs if they need when we're around. Please note there is no balcony or outdoor area for this apartment - but Seddon is a beautiful suburb to walk around! Other things to note STRICTLY NO PARTIES: another AirBnB is located on the floor below, and the four busy professionals upstairs need their beauty sleep! Beau works in hospitals, Rhys works in change and strategy, Laura is doing a PhD, and Jeff works for Victoria Police. PARKING: there is lots of street parking around. Untimed and free on weekends, 1-2 hours 9am-9pm weekdays, or about $6/day around the corner. We have one visitor parking permit which we can sometimes loan guests for free parking 24/7... please enquire ahead of time and we'll try to make it available. Loud noise can travel between the floors so we try to keep it down towards bedtime, and encourage guests to do the same. Beau (one of the residents) plays the saxophone and baritone horn, so you may occasionally hear some practicing during the day - he usually tries to sneak this when people aren't around. (Our neighbours and past guests have said it's nice to listen to though!) We have an EV charger for our EV. We may occasionally be able to provide this for guests to use - please get in touch to enquire. We pay to have household carbon emissions offset through GreenFleet. We encourage guests to consider how they can make their travel as carbon neutral as possible. Our place is on the lands of the Wurundjeri people, near the meeting of the Birrarung and Maribyrnong Rivers, and the lands of the Bunurong people.
