Description
This is our former milking parlour, known as the barn. With a double bedroom and a sofa bed, the accommodation is suited to 2 adults . Please ask about children and camping Surrounded by fields and trees, wonderful for walks on adjacent footpaths. It has its own entrance , with a south facing garden. We welcome one dog and will consider 2 small dogs. They are £10 per visit .( £5 if one night )We have a boisterous Sprocker , called Spock and he thinks every visiting dog is his friend! The space We have kept the furnishing simple . The windows at the rear are original , solar panels provide some electricity. The bedroom has a double bed , there is a sofa bed in the main room. The shower room is compact! With a wood burner , it will be super cosy in the winter months. . The barn is not the lightest place ! We were prevented by planning from adding extra windows or enlarging them and making some of the changes we wanted. The outside area is partly landscaped there are a lot of pots and herbs, and a big grassed area that is mowed. The verges toward the barn are left to flourish with occasional strimming, they are a haven for wildlife However there is a table ,chairs, a bench and a small barbecue. If you rebook you should see changes over time! However any lack of a posh pergola is more than made up by the fact that the outside area is just green, grassy, lots of trees and a doggy paradise. We always ask about the type of dog you have, this is because our land only has a perimeter fence only and very open plan. Not all dogs can cope with this. There are well used traffic free ,public rights of way alongside our main track and around our property and they are well used. We do have a covered barbecue area. We live in a rural location and when it is wet, it is often muddy and there are puddles . This is a fact of life if, as we do, you seek to avoid environmental damaging tarmac and concrete on drive ways and parking areas. In the meantime don't park in the puddle! Guests can walk around our land , (dogs can in the main be off leads , a few rules apply ) feast on free range eggs ( when available ) and hopefully have fresh salad leaves. We are located on a footpath network, 30 minutes from the coast. There is a village pub and shop within walking distance ( 20 minutes) You can also charge your electric vehicle. Guest access You are welcome to walk around our fields and there are a number of footpaths that meander around our land. We are bounded by a stream and there is woodland ( great on a sunny day! ) You may meet a neighbour or two as they also enjoy our fields and sometimes there are camper vans in the top field. Other things to note We are in a rural setting so don't expect perfectly manicured lawns, paths are not very flat , there are tree stumps to trip over but many natural beautiful features . We have 1 dogs, 2 cats and welcome dogs to stay but there are a few rules regarding hens . Whilst our house is surrounded by its own fields and down a track , we do have neighbours and we adjacent to footpaths so we see quite few people most days!
