Truckee Cabin Retreat: Sauna, Projector, BBQ

Welcome to Tahoe Donner! Right off i80, it’s the most easily accessible part of Tahoe if you’re coming from the Bay Area. 20 minutes to Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley), 5 minutes to Downtown Truckee restaurants, bars & shopping, 5 minutes to Donner Lake swimming, paddleboarding & kayaking, and miles of hiking, biking & cross-country ski trails right on your doorstep! The space Our place is perfectly set up to host a group of friends or family wanting to share meals and conversation. The sleeping arrangements allow for privacy while the living room & back deck bring everyone closer together. There’s a home projector that allows for film nights but when it’s not being used, folds cleanly away. The wood burning stove warms the house and will bring you and your guests together around it. Our back deck has been kitted out with a 6-person barrel sauna for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. New outdoor dining, lounge furniture & Weber Genesis gas grill installed, perfect for BBQ’s and kicking back in the Summer months. Access to Tahoe Donner’s amenities for a daily admission fee: 1) Hot tubs, pools, sauna, steam room & gym at Trout Creek Recreation Center 2) Lake access, paddleboard and kayak rentals, a cafe and a full bar at Tahoe Donner Marina - an idyllic spot with everything you need for relaxing or adventure at the lake! (summer only). 3) Tennis and pickleball at the Tahoe Donner Tennis Center (summer only). Other things to note The Truckee Trail Trailhead is just up the road and provides easy walkable access to Truckee. (We love walking there for lunch and back.) When the snow falls, our street is one of the first that gets cleared by the snow plows. We also use a local service to clear my driveway when it snows so you don't have to; but we do have several snow shovels handy just in case. My wife & I met here in Truckee, these mountains are very special to us! I was born and raised in California, but I've lived in Rwanda, the UK, and France and I have artifacts from those countries around my house to remind me that the world is bigger than California.
