Horseshoe Ranch on Wood River near Crater Lake
The Horseshoe Ranch is located 22 miles from Crater Lake National Park. The rustic home sits on 63 acres with 1.5 miles of Wood River frontage. This is the original 1930s McAuliffe cattle ranch, and the house was run as a bed and breakfast and fishing lodge for 20 years. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalyn were guests here! Enjoy the beautiful and serene property with full access to the private property and the river. There are many nearby activities. The space This is an older home (built in the 30s) with six bedrooms and six bathrooms, including a detached carriage house with one bedroom and a downstairs TV room. The property has an outdoor deck with a new Weber bbq grill. All the basic kitchen essentials are provided such as serving ware, utensils, pots, pans, baking trays, a spice cabinet, a microwave, oven, coffee pot, and dishwasher. There are a variety of board games and puzzles. We have plenty of linens, blankets, bath towels, and dish/hand soap. However, we don’t provide personal use toiletries. The area offers fishing, skiing, hiking, zip lining, boating, canoeing, bike riding, exploring, bird watching, horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, and photography to name a few. Guest access Guests have full access to the private house and property. There is plenty of space to park on the property. Enter the driveway just north of the small organic grocery store (Jo’s Motel & Campground). The driveway is tree-lined and private after entering the front gate. Other things to note Fishing is available along the river and an Oregon fishing license is mandatory. Please pay attention to rules and regulations and season. Hiking is available on the property along the river although waders or muck boots would be advised! There are kayak rentals and fishing guides available in the valley as well.
