Valley View

Newly renovated ski/summer home overlooking the Mad River Valley. Plenty of room for 2-3 families or a big group of friends to enjoy a slice of life in Vermont. Just 15 minutes from Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. 10 minutes from hiking trails that will take you to the ridge of the green mountains. 10 minutes from town. Explore 100 acres of conservation land. Sit by the wood-burning stove. Gaze at the view. Cook in the new kitchen. Walk on country roads past horses and sheep. Enjoy fast wifi! The space Valley View is an upside down house. Most of the living space is on the second floor, making for amazing views of the property and the valley. When you enter, there's a large, useful space for taking off your boots and shoes with plenty of hooks for your winter coats and hiking backpacks. The 2 bunk rooms are also on this level, as well as a full bathroom and the garage. Upstairs is where you'll spend most of your time. The great room includes a few seating nooks, 3 couches, the wood-burning stove, and the dining area. The kitchen is open to this area. So, everyone can be a part of the conversation. A large flat screen TV hangs on the wall. Though, to be honest, we try not to watch too much TV when we're in the mountains. Upstairs you'll also find a bathroom and the 2 master bedrooms. Each has a large, walk-in closet. You'll wake up to a view of the woods every morning. Guest access The great room is probably our favorite feature of the house. Comfy couches and a large wood-burning stove that keeps us warm all winter long. The great room opens onto the wrap around deck. In the summer months, you'll probably spend more time outside than in. Meals easily transition into evenings of conversation and card games. The sunsets are a thing of beauty. Other things to note There's so much to do in the Mad River Valley! In the winter, we're big skiers. We ski at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen mostly. Our go-to spot for cross country skiing is Blueberry Lake. They have all the gear you need and it's not crowded at all. That is, if we don't just stay on the property and adjacent conservation land. If you like to snow shoe, head across the lawn and into the conservation land. There's plenty to explore back there. In the summer, hiking is our favorite activity, followed by a swim in the lake or the river. For road bikers, the valley is a hill climber's paradise. There's extensive mountain biking too. The ideal summer day starts with a coffee, then a hike followed by a swim, and we top it off with a BBQ on the lawn. Perfect.
