Oak lodge is a 'Carpenter Oak' framed contemporary building finished to a high specification. It is situated within the Dartmoor national park, just 2.4 miles from the ancient stannary and market town of Tavistock on the river Tavy. The historical town has restaurants, pubs, Meadowlands parkland, tennis and swimming pool. The Tavistock Wharf provides music, cinema, theatre and art. We are 1.3 miles from the Tavistock golf course which is situated to take in the stunning Dartmoor scenery. The space Oak Lodge has been designed around a 'Carpenter oak' frame to maximise the open plan living area. The luxury accommodation has full length windows providing ample light to the spacious living room and providing easy access to the outside. Underfloor heating throughout the building will maintain the environment at a comfortable temperature during your stay. The fitted kitchen is well equipped with a range of cooking utensils, electric fan cooker/ceramic hob, washer-dryer, dishwasher and fridge. The large double ensuite bedroom is enhanced with the detail of the exposed oak frame and posts. A comfortable pocket sprung mattress sits on the King size bed, the room is furnished with bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom is spacious with a walk in shower, heated towel rail, underfloor heating and storage dresser. We are ideally situated for walking holidays or short breaks with the nearby public footpath providing direct access to moorland walks. For golfers, we are a short drive from the Tavistock golf course. We are a convenient base for several of the the national cycle routes, Dartmoor way, the route 274 and the Devon coast to coast, route 27. For those with equestrian interests, do enquire, there is direct access to open moorland at each end of the lane. Guest access The property is set back from our adjacent property. There is on site parking. Other things to note We want you to enjoy the lodge and surrounding area of Tavistock and all that Dartmoor has to offer. We do accept up to 2 well behaved dogs in the property. There is some outside garden space below the lodge, a short walk away from the lodge building. The driveway ground is uneven in places.
