Acres of Avoca

Hello we have a beautiful 5 acre property located in the Southern Highlands. We are fantastically close to Bowral and Robertson for wonderful food, markets and shopping. Kangaroo Valley is just a short scenic drive away and Shoalhaven, Jervis Bay and the coast only 45-55 mins down the mountain. There are cafes and wineries, shopping and great outdoor activities to be had. We are fond of our animals and have several sheep, 2 highland cows, Waffles the Groodle, a cat, lizard and chickens. The space This is an eco friendly tiny house, that has a queen sized bed and a fold out lounge for a 3rd guest. The tiny house's amenities include a split system air con, a kitchenette where you can cook light meals, a portable electric cooker, cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes & silverware, microwave, and even a mini fridge. We provide milk, a selection of tea, plunger coffee, marshmallows and cooking oil. For our bathroom facilities, we follow ecologically sustainable principles, including a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers). In Australia's severe climatic challenge of bush fires and drought, we help to save the environment by conserving water using an eco-friendly toilet. Wastes are broken down in the compost toilet via an aerobic decomposition process. It is a waterless system (no need to flush!), whereas a standard dual flush toilet would use up to 350L of water per week. An aeration fan helps in the decomposition process and minimises odours. The entire property runs off rainwater that is filtered for drinking. Guest access Guests are most welcome to roam the house paddock and feed Whiskey and Soda the highland cows and Tofu and Dashi and Mochi, Wasabi and Miso (their offspring). The chickens and naughty puppy Waffles will all be roaming as well. Other things to note – Quiet hours 10pm-7am – Mobile reception is quite bad in this area for Vodafone (Telstra & Optus are best) – No smoking inside the tiny house – Pets must be kept under control at all times as chickens are roaming and there are also cows and sheep present on the property. Please inform your host if you plan to bring your pets. – Your hosts can arrange for you to meet the sheep and cows if you wish. - Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and any electronics when you leave the house. – Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and always keep in mind to clean up any pet poops. – Since the property is surrounded by wildlife, please keep an eye for snakes.
