Our home is in beautiful Santa Monica. The beaches are minutes away. The Santa Monica Pier and Venice Boardwalk are nearby. Cafés, grocery stores and restaurants are close by. The Santa Monica College is half a block away. Guests often say the photos do not show how spacious and cool the space feels. Many are surprised by the privacy and charm when they arrive. It is eclectic and peaceful. From the outside the house looks like a small 1923 bungalow. Inside the property feels larger and very relaxing. There is a private guest space and a shared outdoor courtyard - please read below the guidelines to help make your stay enjoyable and peaceful. YOUR PRIVATE SPACE -Your space is part of the main house. The guest suite is private - it is not shared. -This is not a full apartment. It is also not a separate guest house. The private area includes two rooms. Please note a third bedroom can be added if available. The third room requires an additional nightly fee and cleaning fee. Room 1 – Sitting Room -Couch -Sitting chair -Coffee table -Ceiling fan -Mini refrigerator with freezer -Induction stovetop -Microwave -Toaster oven -Tea kettle -Coffee maker -Basic cookware and dishes -Lots of natural light This room works well for relaxing or remote work. Room 2 – Private Bedroom -Queen size bed -Closet and dresser -Small desk and chair -Ceiling fan -Natural light The suite private bathroom is entered through the sitting room The bathroom includes soap, sponges, and a dish rack. Guests can wash dishes in the sink (no food down the toilet) Optional Room 3 – Second Bedroom (Add-On) Available for an additional nightly and cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking. -Queen bed -Chest of drawers -Small desk and chair -Ceiling fan -Lots of charm The 3rd room connects to the airbnb bedroom through a lockable interior door. SHARED: OUTDOOR COURTYARD The courtyard is shared with the host. -Guests may relax and enjoy the seating areas. -Please always respect quiet hours. Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM. -No loud music -No speakers -No speakerphones -No loud conversations NOT SHARED: Host Home Access: The main host home is not accessible. Which includes: -Host kitchen -Laundry room -Living room -Dining area WALKING TO THE GUEST SUIT Follow the GUEST SUITE SIGNS on the property. ⚠️ Accessibility Note The path is uneven. The space is not wheelchair accessible. Walk on the stepping stone path in front of the house. Pass the bay window. Continue to the gate along the side of the house. Use the key to open the gate. (Always lock the gate behind you). - Turn left and follow the brick path. - Turn left again at the end of the brick. - Walk up the cement path between the two buildings. - You will enter the shared courtyard. - Walk up three brown cement steps to the single glass door. - Use your personal door code to enter. - Walk straight down the short hallway. - Turn left at the pine shelf. and there is your door to your guest suite. SHARED SPACE GUIDELINES: -Outdoor courtyard seating is available. -Guests may use the space for reading, relaxing, or yoga. -Please always clean up after yourself (put furniture back, take away trash and dishes, etc.) -420 friendly outdoors only. -No cigarettes or cigars. -Please respect quiet hours. IMPORTANT HOUSE POLICIES -QUIET HOURS: 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM No loud conversations during quiet hours. At all times- No speakerphones or computer calls outside so not to disturb others on the property -No unregistered guests or visitors. -No strong scents inside the house. -No smoking of any kind indoors. This includes marijuana and vapes, cigarettes, cigars, pipes etc. Please help by returning items to their original place. PARKING & TRANSPORTATION -Free street parking with permit. -Street cleaning is Monday and Friday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Do not park on that side during those hours. Public transportation is nearby. The outdoor courtyard area is shared - you are welcome to sit and enjoy Please honor the quiet hours (inside and outside): 10:00 p.m. - 9:00 a.m. (no loud noises, music, speakers, speaker phones, talking, etc.). The main part of the host home is not accessible which includes the kitchen, main living room, and laundry. Feel free to let me know if there is anything you need. Other things to note •Second bedroom upon request (if avail. additional per night/cleaning fee) - if rented a 3rd person is able to stay. •Private Surfing, Ocean Swimming (water safety), Swim lessons by a LA County Lifeguard (CPR certified, Covid-19 certified) for an separate fee - fee will includes a surfboard and transportation to the beach). • Available...Private Fitness Instruction available for an additional fee (weights etc. all outdoors). • When the open season allows there is a beautiful PUBLIC Swimming pool at the Santa Monica College. Walking distance across the street. There is a minimal fee at the pool. Note closed at certain times of the year so you will need to check their schedule online). • Occasional events are held across the street at Santa Monica College (music, theater, dancing, etc.) • E-scooters, and other bikes available to find through Uber apps and others (in info book). • Bus stop is a half-a-block away between 18 and 19th St on Pico Blvd (in front of Prime Pizza) • 17th Street / SMC Station Metro train is an approximate 11-minute walk. Bergamont Station - is an approximate 16-minute walk • Beach towels are available for use. Please shake them out well and return where you found them- if wet - leave them outside to dry. • There are some coffee shops, and restaurants, within walking distance • To be in compliance with the Santa Monica municipal code we are required to state the following: "The host lives on-site and will be present during the visitor’s stay" and, "the home share may not be booked or rented by more than two groups of visitors for any given date."
