Alpenrose Chalet is located in charming Little Switzerland, NC approximately 1.5 miles from Blue Ridge Parkway. Convenient to Asheville and Boone, the Alpenrose provides a private and relaxing retreat for the adventurer looking to hike, fish, sightsee, boat or just relax. Private deck overlooking the Black Mountains is a great place to peacefully unwind. Private waterfall located in the neighborhood is just 1 mile away, accessible by walking or car. Located in a quiet residential community, the chalet is tucked away on 3+ acres. Enjoy a stroll on the grounds with spectacular views of the Black Mountains or the many seasonal flowers planted throughout the property. The chalet is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet book on the covered deck with a mountain view, a bbq with family and friends, or visit countless local attractions such as the Penland Art School and Gallery, Mt. Mitchell, Linville Falls, or Grandfather Mountain to name a few. Locally horseback riding, river tubing, and rock climbing are available. Enjoy access to a private waterfall located within the community, you won't find this waterfall on any map!! Accessible by car or a moderate difficulty hike, the Alpine Falls are a special treat for any guest. The chalet was extensively remodeled in 2018 including a new kitchen and appliances as well as new premium mattress in all bedrooms. Master bedroom has king size bed, upstairs loft has queen bed and single day bed along with half bath. Full bathroom downstairs. The laundry facility for the Alpenrose IS NOT located inside the cabin. The laundry is located up a short pathway approximately 30-40 yards at the main house, the Edelweiss Chalet. There is a separate entrance for the laundry room. Laundry detergent and fabric softener are provided. No limit on number of loads of laundry. Please use machines during daylight hours as the laundry room is locked in the evenings. The chalet is located up a short driveway, the last portion of the driveway is a bit steep so I recommend parking at the designated space on the right and walking the remaining 30 feet to the entrance. You will have access to the entire Alpenrose Chalet and 3 acres of property. Please feel free to walk around and make yourself at home. The main house, the Edelweiss Chalet is located approximately 30-40 yards from the Alpenrose. The primary views from the Alpenrose are of the Black Mountains and naturally wooded area of the yard. You can see the main house from the Alpenrose kitchen and upstairs bedroom windows. The grounds have bountiful flowerbeds and is landscaped with great care. I live next door to the Alpenrose in the Edelweiss Chalet and will stop by briefly after you arrive to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay and answer any questions you may have. The Alpenrose Chalet is located in the quiet mountain community of Alpine Village. The area has quite a bit of wildlife, neighbors in the community have horses, goats, sheep, and chickens. Plus there are usually a few wild Canadian geese or ducks at the ponds. Turkey, deer, and pheasants are a common sight in the area. Little Switzerland is a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Spruce Pine, the historic Altapass Apple Orchard, Linville, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Boone, and Asheville. No pets.
