Welcome to Pousada Maria da Toca! Maria da Toca is a quiet inn within a region of preservation of the Atlantic Forest, in Fortaleza da Barra. We don't have air conditioning, but we have the cool and pleasant climate of the Galheta mountain. There is a kitchen and equipment for you to prepare your own coffee and meals. Also, enclosed parking is the best place for your car to stay while you walk, hike, paddle, dive, and visit unmissable eco-projects. NATURISM In the best location on Ilha da Magia, we are next to the Galheta beach trail, in addition to extreme nature, adequate isolation for naturism. Leaving the inn on foot, it is an 18-minute light walk, going up for 10 minutes and down for 8 minutes. At the top, the view is stunning, and upon arrival at the beach, admire the transparent green waters, clear and firm sand, the quiet and privacy are unique. MAGIC Another unmissable trail is also next to it, leaving on foot for 20 minutes is the archaeological trail, "dolmen of prayer trail" walks are carried out to see the alignments of solstices and equinoxes to understand the biodynamics of nature and the connection with the universe. Rock inscriptions and stones that seem to have been organized by the ancestors on the mountain as erected monuments where the energy that wandered leads us to modify our posture before the universe. ENCHANTMENT At the inn, the greenery is intense, the presence of birds is remarkable, favoring harmony with nature and good rest. The fortress of Barra is rich in attractions such as the wonderful “TAMAR” project, on the beach of Barra da Lagoa, 3 km away, a wide environment with monitored exhibitions, shows, tanks with giant turtles with emphasis on the preservation of the species, and it is beautiful to watch the release of baby turtles into the sea of Barra. ECOLOGY The Ecological Trail of the Rio Vermelho State Park (PAERVE) is a guided tour of environmental education, co-responsibility of the eco paerve association. The trail lasts from 45 minutes to 1 hour, and departures are made every hour, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, from Friday to Sunday. On the 1,300-meter route, the public will be able to observe various species of wild animals - many of them victims of trafficking, mistreatment or captive breeding, who were rescued by the environmental military police or received in the park to be treated by the wild animal screening center (CETAS). PAERVE aims to conserve samples of dense ombrophilous forest (Atlantic forest), pioneer formations (restinga vegetation) and associated fauna of the Atlantic forest domain, maintain the balance of the region's water complex, in addition to providing orderly actions to recover its altered ecosystems and provide scientific research and public visitation, with the development of environmental education and interpretation activities, recreation in contact with nature and ecological tourism. NATURAL POOLS ON THE BARRA COAST Another trail 3 km away from the inn is also a must-see in Barra, a light walk starting from Barra beach along the suspension bridge along the shore, the breathtaking view of the beaches of Barra and Mozambique and ends with many dives in the Natural Pools of crystal clear and cold waters. UNDERWATER ADVENTURE Also close to the inn, a 10-minute walk, there is a specialized and highly equipped diving group. Daily boat trips along the coast of Barra, Galheta and Campeche, unforgettable moments of rare beauty and underwater adventure.
