Lel Madalena Guesthouse is in one of the most tourist neighbourhoods: Lisbon’s real downtown area, where many of Lisbon’s main landmarks, shopping and dining opportunities can be found. It is also the main part of the city that was destroyed during the famous earthquake of 1755 and rebuilt in the late 18th century. The space Welcome to LeL Madalena GuestHouse! Right in the centre of Lisbon, between Alfama a typical Portuguese neighbourhood and Downtown. Located on the 1st floor of a traditional portuguese building, the 7 rooms are decorated with all the details, comfortable twin beds, AC, wardrobe, a flat-screen Smart TV and some of them with a small balcony. All bathrooms are private and with all the necessary amenities. You will also find a shared kitchen (no stove) with a cozy living room area. As a homestay, we do not have a traditional reception and for your safety and comfort, we work only with access codes. We would like to remind that we are located on a 1st floor and the access is made through stairs. Hope to see you soon! Guest access Visit the Historic Part of the City The "Elevador do Castelo" is a set of two public elevators with free access, connecting the downtown area to the Castelo de São Jorge. The first elevator connects Rua dos Fanqueiros to Rua da Madalena (across the street) and has an exit at Largo Adelino Amaro da Costa (city center). The second elevator is located in the Chão do Loureiro Market building, which also houses a Pingo Doce supermarket, and takes you very close to the Castle, offering a stunning view over Lisbon. Opening hours are from 9 am to 9 pm. PARKING We are located very close to public parking (reservation not available), with applicable charges.
