The Tree Haus

The Tree Haus is 675 sq. ft., near Texas State University on five acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. River play and trail access in local area. It is 6 miles from downtown San Marcos and convenient to TSU (about 10 minutes to Bobcat Stadium). The Tree Haus is above my Studio, has two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, coffee and tea service as well as a homemade breakfast bread for a fast start in the AM. We do not accept children under 8, non smoking, no pets, clean environment. The space The Tree Haus is a second story apartment with a rustic flare that sits atop several artist's studios and accessed by an outdoor stairway (22 steps up!). It is just a short walk on a wooded path to the Eye of the Dog Art Center that hosts classes and workshops. You can take a stroll up the road or even shorter drive to the Dharma Ranch Buddhist Yoga retreat which offers drop-in yoga lessons weekly. San Marcos offers exciting recreational and cultural opportunities as well as many special events. The Glass Bottom Boat tours and aquarium of Spring Lake at the headwaters of the San Marcos river are a delight for the whole family. Multiple River access in town for water play and tubing. Several trail heads are close by for hikes and nature walks to experience the unique flora and fauna of the area. You can take a jaunt into town and sample San Marcos’s many fine restaurants, brew pubs and other watering holes. At night, the Cheatham Street Warehouse is a favorite music venue, plus so much more. Guest access The deck of the Tree Haus is a devine place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea while watching wild life scurrying by. In the evenings it is a perfect place to unplug and unwind with a glass of wine or afternoon refreshment with friends and family or just by yourself! Visit the artists studios below, or walk to a nearby workshop at the Eye of the Dog Art Center, or the Dharma Ranch Yoga Retreat. Other things to note The Tree Haus is on the second story with an out door stair case. It has no handicap accessibility. We do not allow children under 8, pets, or smoking in an effort to have a clean environment for allergy sufferers. There are 22 stairs up to the Deck and front door. The stairs are well lit after dark. The height of the deck and location in the trees gives it the special qualities of a tree house.
