Our rental super cool and comfortable queen studio with kitchenette is just steps away from Silverton Narrow Gauge Train Station, Durango's many galleries',shopping, and restaurants. Private entrance with access to a beautiful patio with 3 season mild weather. LGBT friendly. Contemporary Design, high end furnishings with luxurious linens and robes. 52" flat screen (if you must stay in) with premium satellite movie packages. "Nest" the two bedroom listing is in the same historical house and could be rented as a second/ third bedroom for groups... Entrances are separate and units are not physically connected but are in same home. Wi fi, premium satellite tv, iPod docks, blue ray DVD, covered storage access (garage) for bikes or ?, private shared parking of street. Kitchenette with small fridge with freezer, microwave. cook plate, crockpot, blender etc. Couch is a unusually comfortable pullout with deluxe setup including down duvets. Or you can keep it as a couch for conversation and movie watching and we can set up a comfy air bed. Deluxe that is up off the floor regular height. Very spacious space with room for yoga or a game of Twister. Lots of afternoon sun! Two entrance doors to Digg's. One exterior door off shared patio. Second private entrance a after going Thru outside door is down some stairs to another locked off door is the entrance to Digg's studio. Very safe and private! Texting or phone communication. Code and Key pick up and drop instructions upon acceptance of booking. Heart of the historical district one block from Durango Art Center and two blocks off main street. True downtown feel and connection with community. Great walks are right out your door with historic homes and churches with the fabulous river trail just blocks away. Great bike rides without loading bikes onto racks and driving to trailheads. The fabulous Rochester Hotel (highly recommend staying here if Digg's or Nest is not avail or good fit) is directly across alley and has wonderful garden events with music and art showings. A favorite gathering place for locals. Animas City Theatre booking national acts only two blocks away. Check web site for this venues lineup. Coffee shops, local brewery's, I think we are up to 6 now, tons if restaurants, shopping and galleries will not disappoint and most within walking distance! Mesa Verde is a good hour away, the restaurants here are rumored to be good but I recommend packing a Guido's (11th and Main) picnic and/or stopping at Kennebec Cafe which is open for breakfast or dinner sans Mondays, or go for lunch after a hike in Laplata Canyon! For a relaxing day head out for a soak at Trimble Springs. Beautiful garden/lawn where you can take a picnic or grab something there. They have chairs and I will provide picnic pack and blankets. If you schedule a spa service such as pedicure or massage, etc you get a free soak. Pagosa Hot Springs are well worth the hour drive for amazing springs for a day away and the drive is beautiful. I recommend Kips for great Mexican and margaritas while over there. Skiing is preferred by many locals at the Wolf Creek Ski area at a highest base ski area in continental North America getting the most recorded snow for all levels. Drive the Million Dollar Highway, take your time and spend the night in Telluride. I personally like the family owned Columbia Hotel. They treat you well, accommodate four legged friends and have the best beds. . There is a trolley and recommend Animas Transportation to and from airport. Enterprise also has car rental at airport and in town. We also have a taxi service... There is garage space for bikes or a motorcycle or? Guests have complete privacy. This neighborhood couldn't be a better location for visitors. Home's that have the historical flair with wide porches and green lawns make walks interesting, yet you are only steps away from the action and necessities of downtown living. The river walk is also within reach of a short walk or quick bike ride. this neighborhood is so popular that the horse and carriage rides include this on their route. This studio has access to a shared courtyard patio, entrance to studio is directly off patio down some stairs to the second private entrance door to Digg's. Very safe, quiet and private! There is garage space for bikes or strollers which is directly accessible from Digg's Studio. Nearby..... Nest is sitting in the heart of the 3rd Avenue Historical District. A beautiful boulevard lined with trees, historic old houses and churches two blocks off Main Street. Second Avenue (one block or basically behind Nest) holds the fabulous Rochester Hotel (recommend staying here if unable to stay at Nest) which during the summer months has many garden afternoon music events and art exhibits. These events are a local's staple to meet up with neighbors and friends and are a nice way for you to mingle with the "natives". Steps away on Second Ave. touts the Durango Art Center, wonderful Eno for coffees (exceptional), wine and perfect tapas! Revolving local artists featured here. The newly remodeled Cypress Cafe owned by renowned local chef/owner Allison featuring local farm to table fare... Steamworks Brewery one block away one of five? Six? brewery's located a stones throw away...but Ska (our native son and pretty infamous) is out in Bodo Park and worth a visit,. Check them all out. P.s. It here is a distillery developing right in town... But not sure of hours and opening... More on that later. Highly recommend East by Southwest and sister restaurant The Golden Triangle for sushi Asian inspired and a good steak. Speaking of good steaks no one does it better than the iconic Ore House directly across street on 6th from the Golden Triangle. The Ore House is on locals short list along with The Palace Restaurant's Quiet Lady Tavern for special events and birthdays! The Ore House has been here for over 40 years and sports the feel of a true Colorado town steakhouse whose highly acclaimed Chef Ryan who recently raised the bar on the entire menu. Proof of birthday give you that % off on your Entree. Not bad! since you dont really need a car to get to the diwntown( you are living snack dab in the middle) there may be times you would like to get out.. there is a taxi/limo service from airport and in and around town. Transit to and from DMR in the winter. Trolley also has a great system. Rent a car for a day or two so you can experience the Million Dollar Highway... they will pick you up. Or get a jeep for the back country. If you take the train, stay a night in Silverton, I heard the train is offering pkgs for overnight stays in Silverton and come back by bus the next day... check with the train people on this for the next day reservation. Smoking cigars cigarettes and marijuana is allowed outside of the rentals, however be respectful of other guests when present and ask if they are comfortable as this is a shared space. A well behaved dog may be considered for a one time non refundable cleaning fee of $75 paid upon arrival by check or cash. Please request prior to arrival for approval and know that any accidents will cause retention of complete deposit . If your dogs are anxious and are vocal upon leaving please advise us. We may have helpful solutions so you can relax upon leaving them alone. Dog Bed will be provided as it is preferred that your friend doesn't sleep on the duvets or linens... No cats ever...due to other guests sensitivity to dander and allergies.
