The Shooting Lodge at Upper House Estate.

Situated on the side of Kinder Scout, Upper House is the perfect place to stay for a friends weekend break or a family holiday. The Shooting Lodge boasts five luxury bedrooms, three beautiful Bathrooms and wonderfully luxurious living spaces which includes the Drawing Room and the spacious Dining Kitchen. Outside you can wander through the Courtyard and around the estates' 30 acres of grounds. There is excellent access to the many footpath's on Kinder Scout. The space If you stay at 'The Shooting Lodge' you will have plenty of space to relax and take in the stunning views of Kinder Scout which surrounds the property and gaze over the waters if Kinder Reservoir. There is a fully equipped Kitchen and Dining Room, a spacious Lounge with a cosy stove, five spacious bedrooms and three well appointed bathrooms. There are some stunning outside spaces including the Courtyard and grounds. Upper House is steeped in history with a former owner being Sir James Watts who was the Mayor of Manchester in the 19th Century and a relative of the great crime author Agatha Christie who regularly stayed at Upper House and wrote some of her books here. Guest access The Estate is one of the highest dwellings on Kinder Scout and is around 2 kilometres from Hayfield village and is at the end of a secure gated driveway where there is ample private and secure parking for our guests. Other things to note Please note we like to welcome you personally to the house. Check in is between 15:00-16:30pm. With this in mind notification of your time of arrival would be greatly appreciated! Please note that the listing is self catering and we would advise stopping at a bigger super market on route prior to arrival for the duration of your stay. The local village store is great for smaller items such a butter, milk, bread etc. Be sure to check out our welcome pack on arrival for the local pubs, attractions and walks. Please kindly note we do not allow Stag and Hen parties. If we find your party is a stag or hen on arrival you will be asked to leave.
