What a tremendous retreat from all the frenzy of life. My home is an oasis of tranquility that also promises great memories, great fun, and great comfort. Lie out in the hammock or hike on the 17 acres of trails that are part of the property. Hang in the backyard in the Adirondack chairs and enjoy barbecuing right on the porch. The fire pit is a great place for S'mores! In cooler weather, it's great to hang in front of the fireplace in the living room. Camping "in" is just so cozy! The local towns around Yulan are Barryville (2 miles), Eldred (2 miles), Narrowsburg (11 miles) and Glen Spey (10 miles). All three have tremendous dining options and bundles of antiquing and shopping. Barryville has a Saturday morning Farmer's Market that is incredible! The grocery store (Peck's) is only three miles away and has all the essentials that you'll need. If you are inclined to go rafting, canoeing, or kayaking along the Delaware River, there are at least 8 different companies within a five mile radius of the house. The Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center (former Woodstock concert site and the museum there is worth a visit!), is only 15 miles away and has a tremendous line up of performances throughout the summer and fall. And the wonderful Kadampa Meditation Center and World Peace Buddhist Temple are only 10 short miles from the Laurel Home. Feel free to explore all 17 acres of the property. The house is completely yours. While there is a washer and dryer in the basement, it's about the only part of the house that you'd probably not want to hang out. There is a den/tv room in the back of the house and a study/office/reading room upstairs which are both open to use. Most times, I will not be around during your visit. However, I always encourage guests to keep in touch before, during, and after the visit with any needs they might have. I will leave keys for easy access and will probably be there when you check out. I will email you a detailed guide for turning on hot water, using the fireplace, etc. before your visit.
