Working cattle ranch 1 hr from Crater Lake NP
Description
Get away from it all at our organic cattle ranch nestled in the Cascade Mountains of Southern Oregon. The ranch is just 1 hour from Crater Lake National Park, is close to southern Oregon wineries, Rouge River rafting adventures and the Pacific Crest Trail. Off the grid yet well-stocked with upscale, modern comforts, our ranch has been owned & operated by the same family for over 30 years. During your stay you'll see cattle grazing, horses frolicking and bald eagles soaring overhead. The space Our ranch is off the electrical grid, and is powered by a combination of photovoltaics, generator and battery storage. We never saw the need for a television or other high-powered electronics - the only modern electronic convenience we invested in is our wi-fi router. We rarely use our dryer, preferring instead to dry clothes in the sunshine (plentiful year-round!) on the clothesline in the garden. Please feel free to use the clothespins and basket! Our kitchen is well-stocked with non-perishable essentials and dozens of cookbooks. Please make yourself at home. Make a relaxing meal on the Viking range while overlooking the pasture, and dine on the back patio beneath the wisteria. If you need additional accommodations, we have a bunkhouse that can accommodate 4 additional people beyond the 6 accommodated in the ranch houes. Inquire for pricing details. Parties & events are not allowed. Guest access Guests can explore the property to see the daily operations of a working ranch. Every day brings something new on the ranch, and we manage it holistically with the environment in mind. On any given day we are moving cattle, repairing fence, changing sprinkler pipelines, checking our riparian wetlands, or stacking hay grown in the pastures. Other things to note If you have more than 6 guests, consider renting our more spartan bunkhouse just 100 feet from the main house for overflow. Please inquire if you are interested in this additional option.
