Romantic, spacious, one bedroom classic "craftsman" style Venice Beach cottage, a short block (100 meters) from the famous Venice board walk, beach & surf break. Large living room with whitewashed Douglas fir hardwood floors, vintage craftsman features, comfy sofa & armchair, dining table, built in desk, classic artwork, & flat screen satellite TV. The space Our glorious little slice of heaven is a quintessential Venice Beach Cottage, built in 1907 and lovingly restored by “Restoration Bliss,” a century later in 2007. Located on a quiet alley in the heart of hipster Venice, we are only a minute’s walk from the funky Venice Boardwalk, paddle tennis courts, & famous Muscle Beach, where the sand, ocean and excellent breakwater surfbreak are right there ready for you to unwind and do your thing. The shops and restaurants of Abbot Kinney & Rose Avenue are around the corner, as are the Venice Canals and the Pier. Santa Monica’s Main Street, Promenade, Pier & Ocean Boulevard are all just a short $5 Uber ride away. Our cottage is intimate and inviting, light and bright, peaceful and quiet, and delightfully well appointed. It can accommodate a couple or parents with a small child. We’ve decorated it in what we like to think of as a “classy beach style,” with a comfy overstuffed sofa and chair, petite regency dining table, and original built in fold down desk. The luxurious queen bed is ridiculously comfortable, and the original claw foot tub perfect for a candlelight soak (we provide the candles!). We also provide an air mattress, sheets and blanket for an extra guest. Feel at home cooking in the galley kitchen with marble counters, original turn of the century cabinets and all the amenities you would want and expect. Brand new stainless steel kitchen appliances. The cottage has full wi-fi connectivity, & flat screen satellite TV. There’s a small outdoor deck/patio, with a couple of Adirondack chairs perfect for morning coffee and reading the paper. We provide two soft-top surfboards & boogie boards to help entice you into the ocean at the end of the alley (it’s a really great beginners surf break). The cottage has its own private parking space. We are gracious hosts, this is a very special spot, and we try to be respectful of our really lovely neighbors in our close knit and really friendly community by being careful about who we share it with.
