Light filled home with eclectic decor. Lovely gardens! The space Classic open plan Eichler home in San Rafael, Marin County. The guest room is large and is situated away from the other bedrooms of the house. It has sliders opening out onto the garden and to a central solarium. The bed is a futon with a thick memory foam topper. The house has two bathrooms with the guest bathroom (shared) down the hall from the guest room. The property is on a quarter acre sunny lot with a pool, mature landscaping and view of the Terra Linda hills. We are located around the corner from the local grocery, Scottie's market, and Nothgate mall is a mile away. The Civic Center with entertainment and 2x/ week Farmers market is close by. Bus lines connecting to points north and south are a 5 minute walk away. We are located by miles and miles of open space trails, ideal for hiking and mountain bikes. The room has a futon bed, linens etc. supplied. There are also various travel size items for guests use : toiletries, slippers, games, travel books and guides and phone chargers. There is also a TV ( with DirectTV cable), small desk, mini refrigerator A cassette/radio unit is also in the room with a selection of music. The house has skylights throughout and a high efficiency wood fireplace in the living room. Coffee, tea and assorted snacks are available. Limited kitchen use (microwave ) other cooking only by arrangement. Coffee and teas provided by request . We have a dog Neo, who loves people and usually stays outside when we aren't home. Guest access The guest room is large and quiet (it sits in the front of the house, away from other bedrooms). Guests can enjoy the common areas of the kitchen/living room area and the bright, plant-filled solarium. The outdoor space provides many areas to sit or slumber. During your stay We have hosted visitors for over 5 years on Airbnb and are happy to answer questions, or find someone who can! The guest room is stocked with guidebooks and maps for assistance as well. Other things to note Like to cook? We do too. In fact we are in the kitchen quite a bit with active projects, harvest processing and fermentations happening all year. So we are open to sharing if arranged in advance. Many guests have left with a Kombucha scoby starter as a souvenir.
