Himalayan Hemp Eco Stay, Malla

Welcome to India's first hempcrete homestay in Himalayas & witness the comfort and coziness of vernacular architecture at the same time reaping health benefits of hemp. With maximized usage of natural materials the improved indoor air quality rejuvenates the body, mind & soul. Naturally built, the home-stay offers antibacterial hemp fabrics as bed sheets, cushion covers etc with natural finishes on the walls. Indoor plants also contribute to enhance the air quality. The space The room called 'Malla' is located on the first floor and is approached by a wooden stair from the main entrance of the building. The room opens up to a private south facing terrace which provides a picturesque view of morning sunrise and evening sunset, and receives ample sunlight in clear weather. The terrace provides a night view of city lights of Haridwar and is ideal for stargazing. The room has a double bed with side table and charging points. Two cane chairs for seating, along with two side stools.There is provision for keeping cloths. The room is very well ventilated for summers and well insulated for winters. The sloping roof above is covered with corrugated metal sheets with hempcrete insulation layer beneath which prevents the summer heat and winter cold from entering through the roof, at the same time providing sound insulation during rains. There are traditional windows on three walls and there is a soffit space at lintel height for keeping stuff. The room shares the toilet with the host which is located on the ground floor. The toilet space opens into a washbasin space which further leads to two spaces, one of which is a bath with attached Indian style toilet and the other is an Indian toilet. Guest access You can look around the place on foot. Trek up to the temple at the mountain top, or trek to the natural spring water nearby. One can also prebook a guided tour on horse. One can park the vehicle along the roadside from where the property is at about half an hour trek. Other things to note The ecostay is at half an hour trek from the nearest road. Only people comfortable with trekking should book. Only airtel works well here, so do carry an Airtel sim if you want to remain connected. You can bring airtel dongle for your office works. Avoid bringing suitcase, trolley bags and prefer backpacks. Incase a trolley/suitcase is unavoidable, we can provide you paid service to carry your bags up to the homestay and back at an additional cost of 200 Rupees per bag. The nearest shop is at 10 minutes trek and you can only get very basic items there. There is emergency ambulance available at an hour distance and we need to dial 108 from Indian sim to call it on the nearest roadhead.
