The clearing is located at the junction of two protected natural areas: the Arkhyz Reserve and the Arkhyz section of the Teberda Biosphere Reserve, so it is surrounded by simply amazing nature. On all sides, sharp-toothed ridges covered with glacier caps rise: Arkasara, Abishir-Ahub, Cheget-Chat, and Sofiysky, along the slopes of which numerous rivers flow into the Psysh Valley. One of these rivers is Sofia, which gave its name to the tourist meadow. Sofia meadow is one of the most picturesque places in Arkhyz. This is a popular tourist campsite located at the confluence of two beautiful mountain rivers – Psysh and Sofia, where you can comfortably put up a tent, eat delicious food, buy souvenirs or ride horses. This is where most of the routes to the Sofia Valley, to the tourist pearls of Arkhyz – the Sofia lakes and waterfalls – begin. Information about the area First, you need to drive along the asphalted section of the road going west from Arkhyz to the sign with the inscription "Sofia Glacier". Then turn left, cross the bridge and drive a few kilometers on a dirt road to the Mostovaya Glade, where a local market opens on weekends. Behind the market there is a wooden bridge, having moved along which to the right bank of Psysh, you will find yourself in the Sofia meadow. It is better to go by jeep, as the dirt road starts at the Arkhyz River and goes far into the Sofia Valley. WINTER Romantic ski resort for professionals - 8 km.
