Home in Mill Village

Pembees Gardens is one of Mill Village’s oldest homes. Built in the 1790’s (over 220 years ago!) it’s now host to bee hives, chickens, veggie, fruit and flower gardens. While you’re here, take a short stroll to the Medway River & Riverbank General store or a quick drive (12 minutes) to the white sands of Beach Meadows. We have three doggos, two small pups named Hazel and Pecan, and a red heeler named Pembie who rule our roost. Absolutely no smoking on the property. The space Our Bee Comfy Room features a cozy double bed and a window overlooking one of the gardens. You’ll find our home is full of interesting details and art. From the exposed beams to delightful wallpaper, we hope it makes you feel welcome. All of our dogs are rescues that came to us from Texas. Our larger dog has anxiety and does not do well with children. Due to that we don’t allow bookings with kids for her and your comfort. If you are not comfortable with dogs, please consider booking elsewhere as she needs some special attention. The property is surround by mature trees and we’re always working on growing or building something new. We encourage you to take a stroll around, you’re sure to glimpse a hummingbird or two, our beehives and chickens are just behind the barn and we have ducks in the garden by the house. Just watch out for the electric fence around the bee yard! In our barn we have a craft market that is occasionally open on weekends and we sometimes hold special events there. If you’d like a peek at our market space just let us know and we’d be happy to open it up for you! We offer a "Be a Beekeeper" experience and info session where we provide you with a protective suit to tour our hive yard to learn the basics of beekeeping when we open up the hives and have a look inside. We also have fresh sourdough loaves available for $7 and a half dozen eggs to take with you for $3, just give us 24 hours notice. Please message us for more details! Guest access Feel free to utilize either bathroom, both are equipped with showers, kitchen, dining room, living room, and outdoor patio during your stay. The kitchen is spacious and has an island to dine at or the large dining room table can accommodate up to 8 people. During your stay We’re happy to help if you have any questions before you arrive or during your stay. Other things to note We have three very special rescue pups who recently joined us all the way from Texas! The littlest one- will be your best friend and you’ll have to resist the temptation to put her in your suitcase to take home! The other little one and our medium sized dog are very sweet but can get anxious meeting new people. We just ask that you ignore them as they get to know you. We provide a fan in the room and the bedroom windows open, but it should be noted that we don’t have air conditioning in our 200+ year old home. Registration Details STR2425B3655
