This house is one of the rarely available houses on the East bank of the Breede River. It offers unparalleled privacy and seclusion with access to large areas of private farmland for walking, cycling, bird watching and small game sighting. The space This is a family home with its surrounding 22,5 hectares of land, which was once used as a working farm for raising baby ostriches. It is also one of the standby landing areas for the SS Kadie, while waiting for tides on her passage up to Malgas. The thatched roof provides natural insulation keeping the house cool during the hot summer days and warm in the cold winter nights. With its large stoep and built in braai, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the river, the Potberg and stunning sunsets while still keeping an eye on your fishing rods on the jetty. About this space A large holiday house built for 1-3 families sharing. There are 6 bedrooms which have a designated kids bedroom in the house. The downstairs main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the other double bed is also downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs share a bath, shower and toilet. There is ample space to do as you please. Sunbathing, swimming, boating, skiing, tubing, kayaking, fishing, walking, bird watching, mountain biking, trail biking, board games and braaing. All in a very private and secure location. Guest access Guest access Guests have access to the main house, slipway, jetty, Kadie’s Landing property and neighboring farms. Guests do not have access to the garage, cellar or barns/boathouses. There are a few locked cupboards which contain some owner’s personal belongings so please make use of the numerous other cupboards available to you. Other things to note The road access is gravel road with various farm gates to open and close, SUV or 4x4 preferably. Please inform us if you are bringing a boat to assist with launching.
