Barkala Cottage

Barkala is located approximately 15kms into the beautiful Yarramalong Valley. The Cottage is located away from the main road and has an elevated position on the Northern side of valley providing a beautiful outlook across the property and valley. The space Barkala Cottage offers a full kitchen with breakfast bar and a dining area that will more than comfortably accommodate all guests. The living area is spacious with lounge and armchair setting, Bluetooth sound system, Smart TV with Streaming services available (no free to air) Netflix is included. Both Bedrooms have Queen sized Beds, built in wardrobes, one has a Smart TV, the other has a Desk space if you need to work. There are two bathrooms and fully equipped Laundry. There is a large deck that wraps around three sides of the Cottage positioned to enjoy the views across the property and Valley, the deck is furnished with an outdoor lounge, dining table and Weber BBQ. There is a fireplace for those cold nights and ducted aircon throughout the Cottage for those hot nights, or the when you don’t want to light the fire, we supply the wood. There are also ceiling fans in the living spaces and bedrooms. The Cottage lawns and garden are there for you to enjoy, there are picnic blankets and chairs for the lawn, you might even find some herbs for cooking, or some mint for cocktails. To ensure your privacy, access to the property is carefully managed with electric gates and security cameras. We welcome up to two dogs, up to 15kg. The cottage garden is fully fenced and great place for your puppies to play. We will supply clean bowls for food and water and fresh bedding if required. We also have a doggy door that can be added to the sliding door to improve access. There are some extra rules regarding pets, please ensure you read these. Guest access Guests have full access to the Cottage and immediate surrounding garden, one of the paddocks where you can collect Macadamia nuts and the area behind the Cottage which includes approximately 2kms of walking trails on approx 20 acres. Your hosts Peter & Terry live on the same property, some distance away, guests are requested to not exit the cottage garden heading towards the dam. But feel free to contact us should you need anything. We share the same front gate, but the driveways separate quickly giving you private access to the cottage. Other things to note We provide some kitchen basics, like Salt, Pepper, Oil, long life milk, some Nespresso Coffee Pods (Vertuo), a selection of regular and Herbal Teas, biscuits, chocolates and a small jar of our Barkala Honey. All water in the Cottage is collected rainwater and is processed through a three stage filter including a UV light treatment and is perfectly safe to drink. Barkala is a working property with livestock to care for and regular maintenance being undertaken. We will limit activities when possible when we have guests, lawns are typically mowed on Thursday. Our Telstra mobile coverage is very poor, however if you have Wifi calling enabled you will be able to make and receive call once connected to our Wifi Network. Optus coverage is good.
